"The two gentlemen (for lack of better term) installers, were polite, professional, and got the job done. I was very happy how they put plastic around and if they moved something they put it back in its place."

"The company could not have been more reliable. Estimate was thorough and detailed, installers were prompt, neat, professional, and considerate. They took time to explain all equipment to us. Follow-up inspection was timely and identified two issues needing correction, and that work was immediately addressed and completed."

"Mark was very professional and gave a complete explanation of the estimate and work involved. while only one man showed up on the date scheduled for insulation, he completed the exterior walls foam insulation work including the interior basement rim in the day as promised and was very courteous and thorough. I have noticed quite an improvement in the warmth of my home and especially since we have had 2 very cold weeks since Christmas. negative degrees! I am very pleased with the company and the work."

"I hired Airtight to spray foam insulate my rim joists and add to/correct the existing insulation in my attic. Ryan conducted the free home energy audit and was very prompt in following up with an estimate. He was very honest about the work I needed done and I was incredibly pleased with him and the crew's professionalism. I highly recommend reaching out to Airtight to see where they can help you."

"My drywall was a mess after taking down 1970s-era foil wallpaper.  He skimmed my walls and made them look great!  He really wants the job to come out terrific, so once everything is put back into the bathroom (toilet, vanity, floor), he's going to come by to touch up any damage to the drywall caused by the installers.  His price was very reasonable, too.
It's hard to find a really adept drywaller.  If you're looking for someone to do your drywall, you've found your man!

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

Whether you can reuse a drywall anchor depends on its type, material, and how it is removed. Plastic anchors, such as expansion or self-drilling types, are generally considered single-use because they are designed to expand and are likely to break or become deformed upon removal. Metal anchors, like toggle bolts, are more durable and can often be reused if they are not damaged during extraction. However, with toggle bolts, the toggle mechanism can fall inside the wall when the bolt is removed, making it difficult to retrieve. If an anchor is damaged or must be cut for removal, it cannot be reused regardless of its material.

Both plaster and drywall are durable wall finishes, but they differ significantly in installation, cost, performance, and aesthetics.

Installation & Cost: Drywall installation is faster and more affordable, typically costing $1.50 to $3 per square foot. It uses premade sheets, making it a more accessible DIY project. Plastering is a labor-intensive craft that requires specialized skills, pushing costs to $2 to $10 per square foot. It involves applying a wet paste over a lath framework.

Durability & Performance: Plaster is generally more durable, longer-lasting, and provides superior soundproofing. It is also a better insulator, which can help reduce energy costs. Drywall is easier to remove for future renovations.

Aesthetics: Drywall provides a smooth, uniform surface ready for paint or texture. Plaster offers a high-end, naturally textured look that can hide imperfections and is often preferred for achieving a classic or historic aesthetic.

Which is better? The choice depends on your priorities. Drywall is ideal for those prioritizing a lower upfront cost, faster installation, and DIY potential. Plaster is the better option for a higher-end project where durability, soundproofing, and a unique, premium finish are more important than the initial cost.

Applying spackle is a simple DIY project that most people can complete in just a few hours. Even homeowners who have little DIY experience can complete this project in an afternoon. However, if you're uncomfortable with the project or don't have the time, you can always hire a pro to help.

Costs depend on labor, material quality, wall preparation, and finishing requirements.

Glass walls are more expensive overall than their brick or drywall counterparts. However, if you need walls for a building with more than two or three stories, glass walls are the more budget-friendly option.
