G&M Construction Group of New York, more specifically, "G&M" stands for my parent's initials Giuseppe and Marie. Giuseppe and Marie Scilipoti emigrated from Italy at a young age for a more prosperous life in the United States of America. My father was a bricklayer in New York City and my mother worked for UPS. My parents were hard working individuals who taught my sister and I that if we wanted to succeeded in life we should never give up. My parents knew this very well given that they came to a country where they did not know the language and had to teach themselves English in order to find work. We moved to Oceanside, NY when I was 12 years old. Not too long after, my mother passed away. For the next 16 years I worked by my father's side learning the home improvement industry. My father passed away the summer of 2009. It is my hope that I can continue my parents dream for a prosperous life and a better life for our family. This is the meaning behind "G&M". Their dream is now my dream.

"My wife and I purchased a home in desperate need of a refresh and hired Phil and the crew at G&M Construction Group to renovate about 75% of our home including removing load bearing walls, renovating the kitchen, 2 bathrooms, basement, floors and more. First off Phil and his crew are some of the most professional people I’ve worked with.. always on time, seemingly always available, preparing quotes quickly, full in depth explanations.. the list goes on. Equally important, he is incredibly knowledgeable. We had a million questions and concerns and he was there to answer them all. He respectfully steered us away from things that in hindsight would have been a total disaster, but was respectful of the few things we could not budge on. The attention to detail was remarkable. He has a true passion for his work and takes great pride on anything he puts his name on. He always took the time to explain all aspects of the job and work to be done each day. As walls came down Phil inspected every inch of the house of any issues, leaks etc and arranged for everything to be fixed. He even caught things that the “home inspection pros” missed. My wife and I sleep better each night knowing that everything was thoroughly checked out. Also Phil’s network of electricians, plumbers, floor guys were great.. their work was also top notch. Lastly, we listened to Phil’s advice throughout the process and the finished product is truly unbelievable. Everyone that walks into our home is blown away by the craftsmanship, including us each and every day. Phil has a true skill, a wealth of experience, an eye for precise detail, a huge knowledge base, manages his crew efficiently and is overall a great, trustworthy guy to work with each day. I look forward to working with Phil and the crew for future renovations.. they are the only crew I’ll work with from now on. Tile and Marble is all that his company does, so work is never subcontracted out. Kenny gives 100% to every job. Depending on job size, billing is as follows: 30% starters check asked for at the beginning, 20% half way through the job, and 50% upon job completion.

He filled in spaces under surrounding tiles where the slip had been carelessly spread. The carelessness was the reason the corners of the ceramic tiles were so fragile. He moved grout from all the tiles, replaced it. His work was fast, professional, neat. I will recommend him to all my friends and contractors I might know. He responded much more quickly than other companies to requests for estimates and insurance. He arrived at all appointments on time. We were desperate to get the job done, so I paid him more than his usual fees. But it was worth it."
