"Beware of shipping issues with this company. Ordered an ice maker installation kit on 10/10/25. Shipping was due no later than 10/20 according to company and FedEx tracking. FedEx tracking showed the package at their facility for 8 days without moving beginning on 10/15. Called FedEx 3 times. Each time they said they cannot find package and I have to contact shipper. Shipper has to make a claim, they will not mark it as lost. Called Appliance Parts Pros twice. Each time they say FedEx has to mark package lost before they will do anything. They also state they have to wait 14 days from them before doing anything because of their contract with FedEx. I don't care about their contract, I want what was ordered and paid for. Just going in circles with them and FedEX. If they shipped after 14 days it would be 22 days from that point, 32 days from the date of order if they shipped it that day. You should know the main components of an air conditioner: the condenser coils, evaporator coils, drip pan, AC filter, ducts, and refrigerant. Each part plays a key role in the performance and safety of your AC system. When tracking the source of AC issues or odors, it helps to know where to look. Your outdoor unit houses your condenser coils, fan, and compressor. Your indoor unit houses your evaporator coils, drain lines, and filter, and it connects to your ductwork. 

When your HVAC technician mentions recharging your home AC unit, they’re referring to the process of topping off the unit with refrigerant, so the levels are properly maintained and pressurized. Normally, a properly functioning AC unit doesn’t need additional refrigerant, but AC units can develop leaks or other problems that decrease the amount of refrigerant needed.

If your central AC is not blowing cold air, you should try resetting the system. Many systems have a reset button. Make sure your thermostat is off, then turn off the circuit breaker that powers your AC. Hold the reset button for three to five seconds, then turn the circuit back on. Set your thermostat to cool and choose a temperature cooler than the room. Your system should turn on quickly.

If possible, avoid placing furniture in front of a return air vent. A blocked air vent can cause your HVAC system to use more energy, which in turn can lower the life span of your unit and raise your energy bill. Furniture can also trap hot or cold air, damaging your furniture or appliances. 

Professional duct installers suggest leaving between six and 12 inches of space in front of an air return vent. If you must place furniture in front of a return air vent, try to aim for putting furniture over a floor vent instead of in front of a wall vent, and avoid draping curtains over any vent system.
