HIDDEN PET FENCE of NY

I contacted this company almost 2 years ago. The “training” they provide is not training. It’s a piece of paper they give you to train your own dog. My dog is medium sized and he became very nervous and didn’t want to go out. I called several times and after they get your money they don’t care. The put the line in right after winter, but the ground was frozen in the back stil so they told me they would come back and dig when the ground was thawed. They never did. I had to call them and they acted like I was bothering. Then after I finally got my dog ok with going on with the collar he got out the yard a couple of times. I checked the collar and it wasn’t working. I reported this to them and they kept telling me make sure it’s charged. I finally recorded that it was fully charged and not working. He came out a week later and tried to tell me it was the collar and I showed him the video and he rocked the box and it was the box. Use another company please!

Very deceitful company. Originally called to fix a broken line in the fence. They told me it would be $120 to come out to find the brake and subsequently any brakes would require a $50 charge. The service guy showed up and found a break, and I watched him splice. The wire together, took him a total of 15 seconds Which I was fine with. I then went inside to come back out to see my yard totally ripped up and two other spices done which I did not authorize. I originally told the lady at the fence company that I would do the splicing myself as it is very easy to do and was not going to charge $50 per slice which is ludicrous. They then tried to sell me a $1300 new fence system and after I declined, the man told me it would take a substantial time to find the brake in the line. He then laughed, and I asked him for an invoice .He then laughed and I asked him for an invoice and he told me the company would send me a bill. I never received the bill and was subsequently charged $374.76 to my credit card. When I called the company, the lady told me that the owner was on vacation ironically and that he agreed to refund me $50 back for one of the spices. Thank you but no thank you. This company is very deceitful and they nickel and dime you. Please do not use this company. Such a deceitful way of doing business and very shady.

Our fence line was accidentally cut, Hidden Pet Fence was able to fit us in for a quick repair.

Please do not use this service. When they came to install, they were friendly. Subsequently when we had problems, their response was lukewarm to say the least. As they claim, their invisible fence is NOT endless. We called and spoke and were told someone will get back and no one ever did. I even emailed Ralph (who I think is the owner) but never heard back. Now the fence does not work at all. 1500$ down the drain. This review has not been written in haste. I took time and gave them an opportunity to review but to no luck. Such a waste. Save your money and time and stay away. You will be doing yourself a favor.

Please note that this company has so many awesome reviews because their techs ASK for them. The company gives each tech a $50 bonus for every 5 star review they get on a whole list of websites that they provide to you. If I had known JUST THIS, I would have never hired this company to install our fence. That is incredibly shady business. At the end of October we had our fence installed. I have two large breed dogs and opted for the rechargeable collars. The young man who installed the wire and fit the dogs to their collars was kind, professional, and thorough with communication. I will start this off with noting that I am pleased with the install, itself. You could barely tell that the wire had been placed. So far the invisible fence has kept our dogs in, with only one dog being able to wear their collar. This is where my experience goes south, quickly. We followed instructions exactly as they are written out in the paperwork that we received after the install. The man who installed our fence also fit both dogs to their collars. I thought that the collars were a bit too tight, the tech explained that they needed to be tight, I should only be able to fit ONE finger under the strap. I decided to place my trust in the tech, as he is trained to install the fence and fit the collars. For the next four days we put the collars on only when the dogs went out. We were walking the dogs around the yard on lead during this time and both dogs are large (Great Pyrenees & Bernese Mountain Dog) so we only handle them on lead if they wear a harness, which both dogs did during the walking phase. After those first few days we were instructed to put the collars on in the morning, and remove at night. The third day of doing that I noticed my BMD started to have a smell, while grooming him I noticed serous fluid all around his neck. I removed the collar and took him to the vet the next morning for a clip and clean under sedation. BMDs have a very dense double coat, he is also very sensitive with some anxiety so if he thinks he is being inspected he refuses to sit still. Due to this, I had no idea just how bad it was. His entire neck had wounds from the collar. The day of the vet visit was also day 8 post fence install and we were instructed to call the office on that day as they would give the okay for supervised off leash time. When I called I notified the woman who answered of the incident, telling her the collar was fitted too tight and pressure wounds resulted from this requiring a vet visit, including sedation. She stated that she was going to talk to Ralph, the company owner, to see what he wanted to do about it and would call me back the next day. When I received the call I was unable to answer, the voicemail left was “Ralph said the collar was too tight if it caused wounds that quickly and to loosen the collar so that TWO fingers could fit underneath.” As if I hadn’t already figured that out. I returned the call, very angry as I am sure you understand, but with no foul language or ill words, explaining that was most obviously the case and that I was more so letting them know what happened so that the tech could receive proper training and that this could be avoided with future customers. I never received a follow up call. They never once showed that they care about what happened with so much as a simple “we are sorry this happened.” That would have sufficed and changed my point of view. I spent $3k on this install and collars, yet when I had an issue the business did not care.

Jordan (tech) and Charlotte (sales rep) were fantastic to work with in getting our hidden pet fence set up. The training program that Jordan walked us through is already taking effect. The team at Hidden Pet Fence is clearly invested in keeping your dog safe and contained.

Rob/Tyson were on time, very professional got the job done quick and worked great with our two dogs. They left me feeling extremely confident in their invisible fence and with all questions answered. These guys were really fun and personable to work with. I would highly recommend this company!!

We accidentally cut our Invisible Fence while landscaping. Since Invisible Fence informed us that the earliest they could have a technician come and repair the fence was 3 months out (!), I contacted Hidden Fence of Rochester for help. Within a week, they sent Jordan to diagnose and repair the fence. He was prompt, professional and extremely knowledgeable. He repaired the fence on the spot and now we can be reassured that our dog will be safe outdoors. Thank you Hidden Fence and Jordan!

The guys that installed the fence were great. They really did a great job, and cleaned up after the job was done. They also took the time to work with my crazy dogs. They came back a week later for more training and adjustments, and it has been working perfect. Great employees!

Jordan was so nice and respectful. He called ahead to let us know he was on his way and he was on time. He was able to find 3 breaks in the wires do to the construction we had recently . The whole experience was excellent. Jordan was great with us and our dog. Their approach to the training and how the collars work is what sets them apart from the other companies. We did about 2 acres and everything went smoothly. We highly recommend them!

We highly recommend Dog Yard hidden fence. Jordan had a calm, confident manner and easily worked with our scared dog. His instructions were specific and clear. We were most impressed with him. Since installation, Jordan has called since to check up on Barkley and provided some great tips and tricks as we work with our dog on getting comfortable.

Jordan was our installer/trainer. We are so pleased he was amazing came to our home walked with us around the property so we could talk about where we wanted the fence. He then told us where he would setup the base in our garage and where the wire would come out through the garage he asked us about a couple different options. We told him whatever is easiest for him. He responded with it isn’t what is easiest for me it is what is going to look the best and make you happy. We ended up going with his recommendation and you can’t even see the wire. ? He installed most of the fence in the sunshine but when he got to the last part it started down pouring and he kept working right through. When it came to getting the dogs involved our one dog was no problem. Our other dog is a very timid and scared dog. She was not having him be near her. He did not let that stop him. He worked with us and showed us how to do everything. He never once showed that he was upset or made us uncomfortable because our dog was nervous/stressed and acting up. They have a great way of introducing the fence to the dog but not making it a situation where you just immediately shock them. You gradually show them and they learn super quick with the training! I am so happy I chose Hidden pet fence and will recommend them to anyone who is interested in a fence!

We had Nick R come and install our pet fence today. It was one of the hottest days of the summer and he did a wonderful job. He answered all of our questions and took the time to make sure we understood how to work with our dog after he was gone. He was great with our dog when introducing him to the fence as well.

We had Hidden Pet Fence at our house today to do an installation. Nick R. the guy that came to do the job was fantastic. I can't remember when I've seen better customer service recently. Everything that he touched, looked better when he was finished. We are looking forward to enjoying our Hiden Pet Fence!

Excellent! Nick and Jordan were great. They were on time, installed the fence right where I wanted it, and then went through the training details. The process was smooth from my first phone call to get an estimate. It has only been 2 days and my dog is already understanding the pink flags are the border. I was a little nervous because she is pretty stubborn but so far so good.

Everything went very smoothly. Nick did an awesome job. He called about 25 minutes before arrival, we walked the property and he did everything that we wanted as far as placement went. When he was done installing he did a great job training our dog (and us) on the process. Couldn't be more satisfied.

The installer, Nick was right on time, plowed through snow and ice with his machines, completed the initial training in just a few hours. Nick was knowledgeable and patient with all my questions. I highly recommend Hidden Pet Fence of NY, Inc.

From the moment we viewed Ralph's video explaining the uniqueness of Hidden Fence, to his visit to our home to meet our pet and review the product, installation and maintenance we were impressed. We were impressed with Ralph's expert training, and Sherri's confident support in scheduling and supporting from the home office. Finally, Danny came out to install the fence and explain on going training with our pet that was professional and expert. As we adjusted to the new fence Danny came to our home two other times, despite obvious illness. Such dedication is to be lauded. The team is very supportive of keeping our pet safe. A competent, friendly and professional team to rely on!

Dan and Nick were great! They were very professional and respectful of our property and especially of our dog Alfie. Our yorkie, Alfie, had a bad experience with an electric fence a year ago. Even before we had the collar on him, he knew what was happening - and was scared. Dan and Nick were wonderful and patient with him, spending a long time with the training. They definitely went above and beyond! Here's to a local company that cares!!
