"Eddie was great to work with! We had a limited time frame to adhere to town inspections and Eddie and his team knew exactly what we needed and quickly got the job done. The results were great and even the inspector acknowledged the impressive repair. They were able to put a knocked out garage wall back on the foundation and repair the interior dry wall. I would recommend this company for any professional contract work due to their reasonable price, ease to work with and quality of work."

"He was very knowledgeable in our system. The previous company hadn't changed the batteries in many years we thought the beeping noise was a big problem and a major repair. It turns out it was old batteries. He explained they should be changed every 3 to 4 years the batteries were almost 10 years old."

"Custom windows and doors did a great job! We love the doors finish and color. Everyone who sees it gives us a complement. The installer Brown was amazing. He got to my home at 9:30 and didn’t leave till 4pm. It took him all day because of the Structural issues with the house. The entrance in the back wasn’t built right. It wasn’t level. When he tried to put the new door on it wouldn’t fit. He had to Chisel cement pieces off the frame of the house to correct the problem. He then had to get creative with wood placement. He insulated everything and even fixed my bell which was installed incorrectly. He was so patient and even worked through lunch to finish. Brown was amazing through and through. I would definitely use these guys again. It’s hard to find workers who are as skilled as Brown. His company is very lucky to have him. 5 stars all around!!"

"Mark came out to assess the damaged gate arm the day after we called. He determined what was needed and how to prevent it from happening again and he also had all of the parts needed to fix it the same morning. Mark was a pleasure to work with and would highly recommend his services."

Gate Repair questions, answered by experts

For homeowners concerned about security, an electric gate may offer peace of mind. Electric gates will require a code or remote to open, so you don’t have to worry about young children getting out of the yard or someone breaking onto your property by simply swinging open the gate. But because it needs power to operate, installing an electric gate will be more complex and expensive.

The most common cause of gate sensors not working is damaged wiring. Only a professional should diagnose this because it requires working with the system's electronics. There are safety concerns, but more than that, you don't want to accidentally short out your system or cause any electrical damage. Insects, rodents, and fallen branches are common reasons your wiring could become damaged.

Gates are often stuck halfway due to physical blockages or damage to the rollers, wheels, or tracks the gate runs on. Check to make sure there are no obstructions before considering that the motor might be burned out or malfunctioning somehow. Hopefully, the issue is simple, and you can remove it with a broom or your hands, but if your gate is stuck and there's no obvious reason why, you should call a pro to diagnose the issue.

Yes, you can convert manual gates to electric operation. Installing a motor and an opening device from a kit allows you to convert any gate so it can open and close automatically. Be sure to buy the correct type of opener for your gate style. For example, some openers are specific to swinging gates, while others are for sliding gates. Get familiar with your swinging or sliding gate parts before you go shopping to avoid having to return to the store for the correct opener.

To make your gate safe, purchase a gate made from strong material such as wrought iron, stainless steel, or other metals. Ensure that the gate has strong joints and bars that are welded on rather than inserted loosely. If you’re concerned about people climbing over your gate, you can deter them by installing fence spikes along the top as an extra precaution.
