He could do everything I wanted and more. The first job was having his friend do the roof and the gutters. He did a fine job - he was very professional and the roof came out great. In fact, I couldn't figure out why my smoke detector on the second floor was leaking water - and he came to figure it out - went all over the roof and into my attic - and saw that my air conditioning condensation tray was directly over the smoke detector so it leaked into it. He said it would probably never happen again. I will look for the name of the roofer and post a stellar review - just couldn't find it to post it for this loser. The basement was done OK with the exception of the carpeting. The installer he used banged up the paint job during his job. When I vacuumed the stairs for the first time, ( I'm not proud - but it was not until May since I do not use the basement at this time) a loose fiber got sucked into the vacuum and 2 inches of the padding became exposed because the installation was faulty. The carpet just unravelled!!! I requested the name of the installer so I could contact him directly but Peter Fox refused. I did all of the spackling and repairs to the interior walls to save on expense. I was charged over 3000.00 for painting one coat for three rooms along with a cathedral ceiling.. which would have been OK except the ceiling was never painted. I had to call Peter out on it to get them to paint the ceiling. Also - one coat was not enough - and if I did not insist on a 2nd - Peter Fox would have left it looking like crap. Being ripped off for the electrical work that his electrician was supposed to do is what pushed me over the edge. His electrician spent about two hours at my property and subcontracted other work out to his friend - whom I don't know - however I was billed two thousand dollars for the installation of 3 basic ceiling fixtures and two bathroom fans. Pete used substandard wood for the deck, causing many boards to warp and separate from the floor and the railings. He used wood putty extensively which made the railings have unsightly bumps, dark spots and light spots. Every post used next to a gate developed gaping splits down the middle of each one. It was unbelievable. I forwarded Peter photos of the poor workmanship that I had paid top dollar for - but he was not interested. I paid a carpenter almost 500.00 for repairs last summer just so I could stain the rest of the deck. He also said I needed a window well. I said yes. I had no idea at the time that you don't need one if your entire window is above ground. So he was able to sell me something I didn't need. The job was shoddy. Amateurish.
He dug about 5 feet, laid plastic & concrete - for a leak 6 inches below ground level. The leak is still there. And now there is a new leak down at the bottom of where he dug to. "RUN FAR AWAY FROM ALLIED AND TOM. Tom took my money and did not complete the renovations as per our contract. He lied about having a licensed electrician to do electrical work, it was just one of his workers who's not licensed. I paid for a dumpster and when it was delivered by tom it was already half full from another allied job and I was asked to pay the full amount of $950. Tom didn't listen to anything I said regarding the work I requested and he changed my design and did work that was cheaper for him. I was priced for one of my ceiling's to be ripped out and reinstalled with new sheetrock, Tom waited until I was away on business then he installed sheetrock on top of the bad sheetrock and told me he ripped out the old sheetrock and installed the new sheetrock, I found out when my EC cut holes to install lights and we found 2 layers of sheetrock preventing the lights from being able to be installed. Allied construction is a cheap, sneaky company who will steal your money and breach your contract. Do not hire these people Tom is a lair. Tom wore a gun in my house on his hip and told me "I use this to get paid by customer who don't want to pay". Tom left live 120v wires hanging out of the walls and ceiling, he removed a banister and didn't replace it for 3 weeks making my home very unsafe for me and my 9 year old son."

"This is an overdue review. I hired Bernie and his team for a kitchen remodel in June 2021, after he did an excellent job with my three bathrooms in 2020. The kitchen remodel was also excellent. His works are efficient, hardworking and clean. My remodel took two weeks, as he had quoted and for the exact price he had quoted. I would hire him and his team again and I referred them to a coworker for her bathroom project. She was also very pleased with their work."

"Mark took a deposit from me and then never followed up on submitting the proposal I signed to my co-op and getting approval. Finally almost a year later, I asked for the deposit back, and he said he would mail immediately after briefly trying to convince me to still let him do the job, because it was simply "out of sight out of mind". That was 2 years ago. I'm filing a small claims case against him/the company tomorrow."

"Inson is a creative genius with a superb eye. He did everything with meticulous detail and completely transformed our apartment into an amazing, gorgeous home. We enjoy entertaining, and our friends love coming over, always remarking how beautiful and inviting our home is- and that was exactly what we wanted, except Inson brilliantly upgraded our concept, within budget and on time (even with our aggressive timeline because we needed to be out of our old place and into our new within months!). Inson’s team was also great to work with - always polite and professional. We highly recommend Inson and plan on working with him again on our Hamptons home!"

FAQs for basement leak repair projects in Elmhurst, NY
The cost to finish a basement is $18,400 for the average homeowner. However, this cost could be as little as $2,800 or as much as $34,500, depending on the basement size and the materials needed. If your basement is already outfitted with electrical and plumbing, expect the cost to fall on the lower end.
For example, the drywall cost for this project averages around $1,750, but other features, like hiring a plumber, cost between $45 and $200 per hour.
The cost to remodel a basement is between $12,100 and $33,400 for the average homeowner. The price you pay can be as little as $3,500 or as much as $50,200, depending on the size and condition of your basement and the type of remodel you're doing.
If you're doing a simple project like adding a home office to your basement, you can expect to pay anywhere from $500 to $3,000. However, if you're adding a bathroom, which is an extensive project, you can expect to pay between $6,600 to $16,500.
Damp proofing and waterproofing are both methods to help keep your basement dry. Damp proofing keeps soil moisture from entering your basement, which is helpful since your basement is underground. Waterproofing, however, keeps both soil moisture and liquid water out of the basement, which is essential, especially if you live in a wet environment. Because it’s more protective, waterproofing typically costs more than damp proofing.
Although homeowners often use the terms basement remodeling and basement finishing interchangeably, they are quite different terms.
Finishing a basement is the process of taking a basement space that is not habitable and adding elements to make it usable. This includes adding plumbing, flooring, and insulation.
Remodeling a basement means taking an already existing finished basement and changing it, often by adding or removing walls, adding plumbing, or changing the existing flooring.
The cost of basement waterproofing is $4,950 for the average homeowner. However, you could end up paying between $600 and $14,000, depending on factors like basement size, waterproofing method, and the region you live in.
If you live in an area with heavy rainfall, you might be paying more for waterproofing than if you lived somewhere drier since waterproofing contractors would be in high demand. Likewise, a 500-foot basement costs between $2,500and $5,000 to waterproof, but that price rises significantly for a larger basement.
