Kitchen is small nominal 12X15 floor with small pantry opened with bi-fold doors with stackable apartment size washer/dryer. Estimate contract was $2,468 for removal of two layers of flooring, patch and prepare present subfloor. On arrival, contractor suggested removing only 1 layer and leaving original existing layer. Pointed out existing floor had squeaks and contract called for prep work to include all previous layers (2) with "Patch and repair of present subfloor". On removal of all previous flooring, contractor found uneven cement residue that (in his judgement} would be difficult to remove and prepare for new vinyl installation. While there was a phone discussion between installer (Scott) and Owner (Michael), it was decided to install new 3/8 inch plywood veneer over existing underlayment at no further cost to me. This, I thought was very generous as it was not specified to be done in the contract. In addition to the kitchen floor, hardwood floors were installed in a large area of living and dining room. The work exceeded our expectations and will return to Ted's when additional flooring needs are required. Thank you Michael, Scott and David (the "A team" from Ted's Flooring) for our beautiful floors!"},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/ny/albany/ted%E2%80%99s-flooring-and-interior-design-reviews-307546.htm"},"position":9},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"Nally Restoration & Remodeling","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"NY","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Philip A."},"reviewBody":"Old (16 year) roof was removed; ridge vents extended and corrected (previous contractor); ice/moisture barrier placed on entire roof surface; gable vents added both ends; new bathroom light/fan installed with extended PVC pipe to vent to exterior in gable (previous one vented into attic creating moisture issue) while roof was open; additional insulation added in attic and storage eve where needed and covered with plywood as necessary; architectural shingles installed. Vinyl siding on house and shed was pressure washed to remove mold/mildew. Jim and his crew arrived on time daily, worked the day through, coordinated removal of old materials to avoid impact on the yard, took pains to ensure the roof was secured when rain interrupted the installation. Jim took photos of his work at some stages to show us how he installed vent piping, insulation, and the ridge vents as things progressed. He was meticulous in pitching the PVC vent pipe properly to drain any condensation that occurs to the outside. He kept us informed of progress and minor issues as they arose. Clean up daily was exceptional including covering of belongings in the attic and vacuuming the attic at the end of the project. Heating cables for the roof gutters are not available right now so he will purchase and install them when winter is closer. Jim is a reliable contractor who can do almost anything. A real pleasure to work with. We are very comfortable having him and his crew in our home even if we have to leave. "Badly 15 months after signing contract bathrooms still not done. They ignore finishing work, ignore calls and e-mails, and not finishing the work. He had not paid cabinet subcontractor who I had to pay. Adequate work that needs to be redone. Poor attitude. Not enough staff. WOULD NEVER USE AGAIN OR RECOMMEND."

FAQs for wallpaper removal projects in East Nassau, NY
Hiring a professional wallpaper remover is almost always worthwhile. Although the work is more expensive due to labor costs, doing it yourself is extremely time-consuming, complicated, and easy to make mistakes and wreak havoc on your walls, regardless of the tools you use. Professional wallpaper removers have the tools and experience to get old wallpaper down quickly and without damaging the walls behind it.
Removing wallpaper can be easy if you have a non-coated wallpaper, but most homeowners have vinyl-coated wallpaper, which is more durable but tears very easily during the removal process. This feature makes it challenging and time-consuming to remove most wallpaper. There are tools to speed up the process, like steamers, but, unfortunately, it’s easy to permanently damage your walls when using them. In most cases, it’s best to hire a professional wallpaper remover to get the job done quickly and without damaging your home.
In most cases, you cannot wallpaper over existing wallpaper. It’s possible to wallpaper over non-coated wallpaper, but vinyl-coated wallpaper is much more prevalent in homes, so you generally shouldn’t put new wallpaper over existing wallpaper. Adding a layer of wallpaper over vinyl-coated paper will lead to poor adhesion, leaving behind bubbles and imperfections in your wall. Plus, wallpapering over vinyl-coated wallpaper can lead to mold growth, which can be hazardous to your health. It’s usually best to hire a local wallpaper removal service to handle the task to avoid these issues.
The average cost to remove wallpaper is around $3 per square foot, but the total depends on the type of wallpaper, how easy it is to remove, and the size of the room. Most homeowners spend around $780per room for wallpaper removal, and prices typically fall between $200 and $2,000. Wallpaper removal is expensive because it tends to be a very time-consuming job, and it can sometimes take a full day or more for the work to complete.
The easiest way to remove wallpaper is to use a steamer. The hot steam will loosen the wallpaper paste and make peeling the wallpaper off in large sheets much easier. Unfortunately, steamers can create irreparable damage on your walls, so it’s not a good idea for DIYers to use steamers to remove wallpaper. Instead, hire a professional wallpaper remover to do the work for you. This method will not only speed up the process, but it will also ensure your walls will remain intact post-wallpapering.
