"I found Veterans Pride through Angi. I needed a dead tree that was starting to lean into my power lines cut down. They responded to my request quickly and were able to do the job immediately. They arrived when they said, and had the job done in a couple hours. They hauled everything away. I did not pay for stump removal. I am very happy with the service."

"honest, prompt, cannot say enough good about them. I've had tree people take my money and then skip out, so I'm so happy to have found the guys. they aren't set up for credit service, so cash or check is best. very reasonable"

"They came to my house within 15 minutes of me returning their call, I got an extremely reasonable estimate and Chris was back within an hour to do the job. This was after a wind storm with MANY trees down. He did great work, very pleasant and neat. I will be recommending them to everyone I know."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Trees don’t usually grow back after being cut down. Some particularly robust tree species may start sending up new stems from a stump to recover, but those stems won’t become a “tree” like before. Generally, trees don’t recover from being entirely cut down, which is why it’s important to be careful when making a decision. When you cut down a tree, it’s a good idea to make plans to remove the stump, even if it’s unlikely to grow back.

You don’t always need a permit to grind a stump, but you might need one depending on your location and the stump’s surroundings. Permits are often needed if the stump is part of a protected tree species, near public areas or utility lines, or close to environmentally sensitive zones like wetlands. Some cities also regulate noise and work hours. Always check local rules before grinding, and contact your city or county office if you're unsure.

It depends. Smaller, younger trees take longer to mature, but they're more resilient, their roots don't get as damaged during transplanting, and they recover faster. Plus, they're much more affordable to plant, and it's possible to DIY the planting.

On the other hand, mature trees produce fruit faster and provide more shade and privacy immediately. Ideally, a small or medium tree is the better choice if you can wait a few years for it to mature. But if you need immediate maturity, a larger tree is the only option.

Though summer is not ideal, you can do some light pruning during this time of year. Just make sure it’s not excessive. Vigorous pruning will stress the tree and impact next year’s growth. Generally, August to September are the best summer-pruning months, particularly for fruit trees.

Leaf removal costs between $400 and $1,000 per acre on average. Nationally, the cost of leaf removal averages about $350. Cost factors for this project include lawn size, leaf removal method, tree density, location, and the time required to do the job. If your lawn removal service charges based on lawn size, you can expect to pay $0.02 to $0.10 per square foot.
