"I hired Do It Right Plumbing for the first time today. They arrived promptly, early even and were very down to earth, knowledgable and their price was reasonable. I felt comfortable having them in my home and would hire these pros again any day. Thanks Dylan and Steve. My toilet works again!"

Small jobs welcome

"From the time they started they worked and finished the job in one day. They had to buy a new faucet and adapt to the size of the pipes. I was thrilled with the results. I would recommend them. Any other plumbing work I need will be done by them. Joan Schaffer"

"$4500.00 was for the labor. We picked out the tile, shower doors, tub, sinks, faucets, vanity. It was either delivered to the house, we picked it up or Nick picked it up. It only took them about 2 weeks to do both bathrooms partly because I didn't buy all the items needed.
I thought that they could have been a little neater when they left each day, but I don't know how neat other contractors are. I just picked up after they left.
We are very pleased with the work that they did and will have them back to install tile and countertop in the kitchen.

"I hired Bennett to replace my gas water heater. He was prompt and thorough when he came out to give me a quote, he made sure I knew all my different options, and he helped me understand the reasons behind suggestions he made. Things that gave me confidence in Bennett were that he listened well, leaned on his network of experienced plumbers to get a second opinion on a tricky setup, was extremely fair with his pricing, and in the end his recommendation was a replacement-in-kind rather than an upgrade since it was more in line with my needs, which showed me that he put the customer first! Great experience working with Bennett overall."

"Joe did our water heater replacement one day after I contacted him. He was able to provide pricing and two different options. He had the job done in little more than 2 hours at a fair price. We are very pleased with the job he did as well as the professionalism he showed from start to finish. We highly recommend this company and would use them again for any plumbing project."

"We are pleased with our bath remodel that included a new tub, tub surround and wainscot walls. There was one small problem with the walls due to the ceiling and walls not being plumb however they did go above and beyond by doing more than was was agreed upon by making plumbing improvements, installing a new lighted medicine cabinet and repairing a light fixture. They were very courteous and the installer even made a suggestion for a change that we agreed would be better."

"Michel (Mitch) Brillon was the person that came to our home and educated us about our water and how unfortunately it’s slowly poisoning us. After a long talk and interesting and mouth jawing demonstrations. We were sold! We wanted to have the best water in our home and avoid any water contamination illnesses for our family further down the line. Thank you very much Mitch for helping our family and introducing us to abetter source of clean water. You would think you can’t afford it, but trust us they have options and help you along the way to obtain them. And you can’t put a price on your family’s health and safety."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Replacing cast iron pipes when they’ve reached the end of their life span is key to preventing leaks and clogs. Over time, cast iron pipes corrode and experience pipe scale, which thickens the inside of the walls and increases the chance of clogs while also decreasing water flow. As the material deteriorates, you could experience costly leaks that increase reparation expenses.

Cast iron can last between 50 and 75 years, but it’s still a good idea to check for leaks as your pipes approach the 25-year mark, as pipes can already show signs of deterioration within the first three decades.

A sewage ejector pump is necessary if you have any plumbing fixtures, such as a bathroom, laundry room, or sink, located below the level of your home's main sewer line. Standard plumbing relies on gravity to move wastewater and solid waste to the municipal sewer or septic tank. However, for fixtures located below grade (e.g., in a basement), gravity is not sufficient.

The purpose of a sewage ejector pump is to actively pump this wastewater and solid waste upward into the main sewer line. Without an ejector pump in this situation, wastewater would have no way to exit and would eventually back up, causing a sewage overflow or flooding in your basement. If all of your home's plumbing is on the main floor or higher, gravity can handle the drainage, and an ejector pump is not needed.

Start by inspecting visible pipes for signs of corrosion, moisture, or discoloration, which can indicate a leak. You should also listen for sounds like hissing or dripping, which may point you toward a leak. Moisture meters and infrared cameras can also help you identify areas of increased moisture around your home, which can also signify a leak.

Brown stains in your toilet bowl are most likely limescale. Limescale happens from lime being left behind from hard water evaporating. Once dried out, the minerals also catch dirt and bacteria which eventually accumulate into the brown or blackish stain you see in your toilet. To remove thick and hard limescale from your toilet, use a mixture of vinegar, lemon juice, and baking soda, and scrub with a metal scrubbing brush.

Yes. There are a variety of standard pipe sizes used in plumbing. The main supply line connecting your home to the street is either 3/4 or 1 inch in diameter. Supply lines are 3/4 inch in diameter. Individual components are 1/2 inch in diameter. Meanwhile, your main drainpipe is often 4 inches wide. Most shower and bathtub drains are 2 inches in diameter, most toilet drains are 3 inches in diameter, and most sink drainpipes are 1 1/4 or 1 ½ inches in diameter.
