"This was the second time I hired zavza seal. This time I needed help with attic insulation for my parents house. Starting with setting up the free appointment, ending with the crew and quality of the work - they deliver a great experience and I highly recommend them for anything waterproofing, insulation, concrete and foundation fixes. If you are looking for a contractor and donâ t know who is trustworthy and professional, go with Zavzaseal, you ll be in a very good hands."

"We have a building and it is so old that it never had insulation in the walls. The winters were very uncomfortable because of the cold that would come thru the walls. Sound from the apartment above carried like the person above was right next to you. I called Ecorite and made an appointment with Danielle to have an estimate. Uri was on time and took measurements then gave us a written estimate. Big wow for us since most of the time we are given a verbal one that keeps changing until a contract is written. We told Uri our issues and he made suggestions. He explained the products and how they use them. Closed and open cell materials and what walls they need to go on. Next was the actual installation. We had to make some changes and Danielle made sure the contract was updated and I approved the changes. She made sure everything ran smoothly. When the workers were on their way Danielle made sure I knew it. When the Kenneth and Lucas (the workers) arrived they were on time and greeted us then introduced themselves. They were friendly and pleasant and they made us feel comfortable with their knowledge of the product, and respectful of our home. They instructed us on how to reduce or eliminate any incontinence to the other tenants of the building. During the installation they worked non-stop, until they broke for lunch. After lunch break they were in a hurry to get back to work. There was no slowness here; if I had to use a word I would use quick€. After the job was done they cleaned up and took out the trash (which for us is a big thing). The entire job was a pleasant experience. I will be calling back for the next apartment. If not for Homeadvisor I would not have found such a good company. We are very happy."

"I found Score Construction on Home Advisor's website. I was looking for a contractor and needless to say I read reviews for many of the construction firms. Every review I read was terrific for Score Construction and because of that I called, met Janusz Z who is the Owner and was very impressed with his knowledge and professionalism. I started with 2 bathrooms that were necessary to do because of water damage. I was thrilled with the work done, the care of how it was done by the workers that were both professional and respectful. A year later a major renovation for my apartment was considered and I called Score Construction. Not only did the renovation to my apartment turn out fabulous and I'm happy every day that I wake up and see how beautiful it is, but they also did major work to the outside of our building - replacing the cornice, roof repair, pointing of bricks, structurally reinforcing all 16 windows which was no easy task for a 100 year old building, but they got it done. ALL this work again was done professionally and with the utmost of care and the knowledge of how to get the job done is their forte'. Every experience that I have had with Score Construction workers and owner, Janusz Z has been top notch. I recommend Score Construction HIGHLY. You will be extremely happy that you did so."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Brooklyn’s humid summers and brisk winters mean insulation service projects must address both moisture control and year-round energy efficiency. High humidity can lead to condensation and mold, so moisture-resistant materials are key, especially in basements and attics. Insulation service pros often recommend scheduling installation in spring or fall to avoid extreme temperatures and ensure materials set properly, optimizing comfort and long-term performance.

Helpful?

Brooklyn features a variety of insulation service contractors, from full-service providers to specialists in spray foam, blown-in, or rigid foam insulation. Some contractors focus on historic or multi-family buildings, while others integrate insulation service with HVAC or roofing upgrades. You’ll also find weatherization experts, energy auditors, and contractors specializing in basement, mold remediation, or fire restoration, each offering targeted expertise for Brooklyn homes.

Helpful?

In Brooklyn, insulation service projects often involve older or historic homes, so you may face unique challenges like limited wall access and preservation requirements. Always confirm your project meets local building codes for insulation R-values and fire safety. Permits are typically required for major upgrades. Consider local parking rules, delivery logistics, and neighborhood construction hour restrictions when planning your insulation service.

Helpful?

When hiring a Brooklyn insulation service professional, prioritize those with experience in local building styles, including pre-war and multi-family homes. Verify they carry proper insurance and certifications for energy efficiency work. Ask for references from past Brooklyn insulation service projects. The best pros offer detailed energy audits, clear warranties, and safe removal of old insulation, and understand local permit and code requirements.

Helpful?

For Brooklyn insulation service projects, closed-cell spray foam and rigid foam boards are ideal for moisture-prone areas like basements. Mineral wool is valued for fire resistance and soundproofing, while dense-pack cellulose and injection foam suit retrofits in older homes. Fiberglass batts and blown-in cellulose work well for attics and walls. Choose breathable materials for historic homes and consider local suppliers for sustainable insulation options.
