"I highly recommend Paladin painting, The project they took on was a disaster , John came and spoke to me and explain in detail what he was going to accomplish. John and his team worked 7 days a week until the project was complete. I wish I had pictures showing the before and after and the transformation that took place. John was a true professional and sent me pictures every night of the progress they made. His team was very professional and did a great job. I highly recommend John and his company and am sure you will not be disappointed. Thank you again for the job you did for us."

"Emailed Angie's looking for a flooring contractor and with minutes got a response from the owner, Ilan. He came over to the house that same afternoon, evaluated the situation and provided me with an estimate. He started the project the very next day. Ilan and his staff were very professional and timely. They took their time and did it right. Ilan is very customer friendly and his crew worked extremely hard. The repairs were finished in a timely matter as promised. Great overall experience with the contractor and a fair and reasonable price."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Only use spackle on plaster walls when the imperfection is small. It’s best used for nail holes or small dings in the plaster. Spackle dries quickly, allowing you to continue the repair process shortly after using it. Plaster can be tricky to repair, though, so if you run into issues, call a pro so that you don’t risk further damage.

Water-damaged drywall should almost always be replaced. Not only does it look bad, it’s a breeding ground for toxic mold. Even if you think the area is dry and there’s no active leak, the only way to be sure is to cut out the damaged area and see for yourself.

Cracks, water damage, and holes from fixtures or impact.

While you can put new drywall over old drywall, it’s not always the best option. In some cases, drywalling over drywall can make it harder to find wires and pipes behind your walls and conceal more serious problems with your walls. It can also make the room smaller. On the plus side, putting drywall over drywall can improve soundproofing and insulation. Plus, it’s often less expensive than tearing down and adding new drywall.

Yes, wainscoting is installed directly over drywall. However, ensure the drywall is in good shape since it will support the wainscoting. If the drywall has issues, such as holes, mold, or mildew, repair them before installing the wainscoting. Alternatively, you can install a plywood substrate before attaching the trim.
