"If you are looking for an honest, highly qualified mason then look no further. James started when he said he would, communicated when needed, was hard working and finished when promised. He charged a very fair rate as well. And my 20 year old patio looks like new. I would not hesitate to hire him again."

"Deck repair completed ultimately to my satisfaction. Owner comes across very pleasant and accommodating in the beginning. He then became very unprofessional with insults, yelling, threats to put a lien on my home when I pointed out a few problem areas that needed repair before full payment. Ultimately, he cooled off and came around to correct the problems to my satisfaction. His workers were very nice and polite. I wish them well and hope this experience improves their Customer Service going forward."

"Very well. The provider, Bill, came to my home to give me an estimate. The estimate was right on. The crew arrived to do the work right when they were scheduled. Bill was on-site every day and explained exactly the process. The crew was also very informative and kept me up to date on what was going on. The floor looks great. Bill has followed up every day to make sure I knew what needed to be done through out the process. We're very happy with the floor and the service."

Small jobs welcome

"Imperial Maintenance did a fantastic job at installing our floor in our soon-to-be yoga studio. They were quick to respond to our request for an estimate. They brought floor samples for us to review. Within 24 hours, we had an estimate for the job...and within a few weeks, we had our new floor installed. We would highly recommend them. Professional, courteous and honest! THANK YOU, Imperial Maintenance .... Sincerely. Veritas Chiropractic."

"Mr. Stanley & his workers all were extremely friendly & answered any questions that me or my wife had asked. Their price was extremely fair for the amount of work, time & supplies that they put into the job. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needed a driveway paved or repaired."

Paving Services questions, answered by experts

Generally speaking, tiles are for indoor use, while pavers are for outdoor use. The main difference between travertine tiles and pavers is their thickness. Tiles are around 1/2 inch thick, and pavers are 1 1/4 inches to 2 inches thick.

Pavers are more rugged and can handle different weather. The extra thickness on pavers also makes them ideal for high-traffic areas.

A pallet of pavers will cost about $300 to $700 per pallet. Each pallet covers about 56 square feet. The specific price you pay per pallet of pavers will depend on a few factors, including the type of paver you’re buying, the size and shape of the pavers, and how many pavers you need. In some cases, you’ll spend less per pallet if you’re buying in bulk for very large paver patios.

Installing a walkway to your home can add value, as it can make your landscaping look more intentionally designed and boost your overall curb appeal. In addition, walkways can be installed with accessibility in mind, which can be helpful for those with mobility issues or who need a wheelchair.

The answer to whether or not you need to get a permit before you start your driveway can vary widely based on local ordinances and the scope of your driveway ideas. In most urban and suburban areas, a permit is needed before building a new driveway to ensure that a homeowner is using safe materials and proper drainage practices while designing and constructing a new driveway. In some rural areas, a homeowner may not be required to apply for a permit. When building a new driveway on your own, always check with your local building department to see if you need to request a permit. When hiring a driveway contractor, verify that the right permits are being used before driveway construction begins.

Decomposed granite and caliche can both harden into a solid surface using a plate compactor. However, due to decomposed granite’s fine particles, it’s not suitable for driveway surfaces. Some homeowners use pea gravel mixed with a gravel-binding resin to bind the loose stones and create a solid surface that won’t shift like loose gravel.
