" Bill and his crew did an outstanding job. Bill was very prompt scheduling the estimate and performing the service. He clearly explain what would we be done and presented me with a contract for services. Bill was on the job both days of the service.  He had two workers perform the job, both were excellent. I can tell his workers were quality people.  The first day the garage floor was scraped, acid washed and resurfaced. The second day the epoxy finish was applied. . So far I am very pleased with the work, as is my wife-- therefore I am doubly pleased."

"Our son bought a 112 year old home where the basement had crumbled wall stone that was seeping. Every time you stepped your foot down floor, it felt as if there were many separate levels. He smoothed and rebuilt the floor and it is not in perfect condition. We also hired him to remove the back patio where we are putting an extension on our home. He took the flagstones out where we are building a new walkway. He took the flagstone from the back and rebuilt the 1940’s 3-foot walkway into a 5-foot walkway. He came back to make sure everything was level and finished up to par. He did a very beautiful job and now two people are able to walk on the sidewalk side by side each other. Of all the estimates I received, he was extremely reasonably priced. We are very happy with his services and are hiring him again in the near future."

Paving Services questions, answered by experts

Asphalt and tarmac are not the same thing. Traditional tarmac, short for tarmacadam, uses tar as a binder to hold crushed stone together. Asphalt uses bitumen—a byproduct of crude oil—to bind aggregate. Though tarmac was once a go-to for roads, asphalt has become the modern standard. And these days, most surfaces referred to as “tarmac” are actually asphalt. So, while the names may overlap, the key distinction lies in the binder—tar for tarmac and bitumen for asphalt.

A traditional driveway gate isn’t your only option when installing a barricade in front of your driveway. A security gate like a swing gate, double swing gate, bi-folding gate, vertical gate, or pivot gate could work just as well as your driveway gate—if not better for your home depending on which qualities you’re after. Like sliding driveway gates, many of these alternatives work with automatic features that simplify entering and exiting your property.

The ideal distance between stepping stones depends on your design preference. A general rule is to place them about 24 inches apart from center to center to match an average person's stride. Another common approach is to leave about 6 inches of space between the edges of each stone; this can be adjusted to fit the path's total length without cutting pavers. If you plan to plant between the stones, leave at least 6 to 8 inches of space to give the plants room to grow.

Compared to a 10x20 concrete driveway costing between $800 and $3,000, a resin bound driveway of the same size costing $3,900 to $4,000 is the more expensive option. However, the cost still makes resin a cheaper option compared to a 10x20 paver driveway costing an average of $12,000.

Cobblestone driveways can take a major hit on anyone's bank account, begging the question of whether it's worth it to build a cobblestone driveway. Some homeowners might prefer more affordable driveway materials like concrete or pavers, which can give a similar appearance to cobblestone without the high price tag.

Paving your driveway costs between $2,500 and $6,600, to put that in perspective. But for others, there’s nothing quite like the timeless look of cobblestone driveways.
