"Bob was amazing to work with. I purchased a home from 2700 miles away and Bob was my eyes during the home inspection. Went above and beyond and didn't charge a travel fee to go to Laughlin from Las Vegas. Could not have been happier with the whole process. I almost didn't have an inspection done because the house is 5 years old, but I am so glad I did. Lesson learned: Even a newer home can have problems you didn't expect. I would not hesitate to recommend or use this company again. Nice to know honesty and Integrity is alive and well in Las Vegas."

Home Inspection questions, answered by experts

The difference between an energy auditor and a home inspector is primarily in the purpose of the inspection. The energy auditor conducts tests in your home to determine the energy efficiency levels in areas like windows, insulation, and doorways. The auditor then makes recommendations for ways to improve a home’s energy efficiency

A home inspector examines various structures of your home to determine that everything is up to code and gauge the condition of features like the roof, foundation, HVAC, and electrical. The home inspector reports on the overall home and makes repair recommendations.

Self-management is possible but requires significant time investment and an understanding of legal and operational responsibilities associated with property maintenance.

Technically, you can do a home inspection yourself. Still, it is not recommended unless you or someone you know has a background in the construction trades to be able to identify any issues. A certified home inspector is trained and has the experience necessary to make a thorough and trustworthy assessment of the condition of a home. If you need a home inspection when buying and selling a home, a professional home inspector is often required.

Yes, most audits include a report with prioritized recommendations for improving energy efficiency. Confirm with your auditor.

You shouldn’t see a difference in your home’s value from your local property assessor if you have asbestos. Does asbestos affect home value when you are selling the home, though? If you are planning to sell the home, most jurisdictions require you to legally disclose the presence of asbestos to any buyer. Most buyers would have reservations about purchasing a home with asbestos, so they may offer less for the home. If you hire a pro to completely remove the asbestos, you do not have to disclose to buyers that the home once had asbestos.
