"On Thu 09 June 2011 we awakened to a wet floor, indicating a leak in the polybutylene pipes in our foundation slab. TLC Plumbing was recommended by several of our neighbors and friends. It has a good rating here at Angie's List, so we called them for help. One of TLC's licensed plumbers, Wesley H. arrived within a half hour of our call. He quickly assessed the problem and summarized the options, with estimates. Knowing the history of polybutylene in our area of Rio Rancho, we decided to re-pipe the house. We have had neighbors who decided to find and fix individual leaks in the slab, only to have more pipes break later. Wesley and his crew have had much experience with this in our area. The crew worked steadily all Thursday and by late afternoon Friday, the house was re-piped. AquaPEX was used in the re-piping, bypassing the slab, going up and through the attic. The new tubing/piping was triple insulated through the attic. Wesley and crew had to tunnel a new channel from the city's water valve to our foundation. That process consumed most of Friday. Had that not been needed, the project would have been completed early Friday. Our water heater was the original in our house, going back to 1985. We had TLC install a new water heater since so much was being done anyway. We were given a great price for the water heater and its installation. Following inspection and approval, TLC's subcontractor dry wall people came and repaired the walls. This crew also was very experienced, working quickly and with superb results. Both crews worked to minimize the mess from all this work, cleaning as they worked, and then cleaning after work.

Some of our neighbors used plumbers other than TLC for either the find and fix repairs, or for re-piping their houses. Not one who used TLC has had any problems. Others have had to re-do the re-piping. TLC's plan for bypassing the slab in the re-piping allowed the project to be completed quickly and efficiently. While the cost was not cheap, the efficient and professional work was worth it. I especially appreciated Wesley's explanations throughout the project. It was nice to work with someone with knowledge and experience, who treats customers with courtesy and respect. All the crew members, both plumbing and dry wall were exceptional.
