"

Paid for this through Angie's List and forgot about it.  I've gotten spoiled by providers contacting me and this business never did.

So the upshot is that the company might be fine, but the downside is that I paid for services I never received.

Honestly, I wasn't going to write a review at all except for the annoying popup thing that keeps asking about my experience.

So I'd go for other people's reviews to get a more realistic sense of what this company's about.

"The work started on schedule and was done professionally.  We particularly appreciated the fact that Smart Scapes provided a professional, computerized design plan for us to consider before the contract is signed without charge.
The job took longer than planned because of several un-anticipated circumstances.  The above-mentioned pond / water feature and the raised rock and concrete planting bed scheduled for demolition turned out to be built of reinforced concrete with foot-deep footers that took much longer to remove than planned.  There was no extra charge for this substantial additional work.  There were also weather delays due to rain, snow, wind and cold weather during the month of February.  Lastly, we made several modifications to the original plan during the job which required delays while we consulted with Tanya and the Crew Foreman.  All of these changes were handled seamlessly and without complaint and to our satisfaction.
All the workers were courteous, professional and were always willing to answer our questions during the course of the work.  They were very willing to help with other un-scheduled tasks such as removing unwanted plants and moving large stones and boulders.  They also added a pipe fitting to allow us to utilize natural gas for our outdoor grill.  The work site was always left as clean as possible at the end of each day...........usually with all rubble removed as much as possible during the demolition phase.
We were very pleased with the outcome and Smart Scapes is currently drawing up plans to renovate our front yard."

"We pulled out the carpet and tiled our entire house. I had no idea how much work tile installation was until we hired R G Enterprises to work on our house and restore it's beauty. The floor looks amazing! Richard and his workers are friendly, professional, trustworthy and do quality work. Their positive attitudes and punctuality were a nice change in today's standards of service. I will be contacting R G Enterprises for all of our future projects."

Aquarium Services questions, answered by experts

You can check your own septic tank, but take precautions. Locate the access lid, usually buried a few inches underground, and remove it carefully. Look for the sludge and scum levels, and if they’re high, that means pumping may be necessary. Check for odors, slow drains, or pooling water around the drain field, which could indicate issues. Never enter the tank, as toxic gases can be fatal. All of that being said, a professional inspection is safer and more thorough.

A properly installed and maintained septic drain field (also known as a leach field) can last up to 50 years, though the average is around 20 years. However, factors like poor soil conditions, heavy usage, or improper maintenance can significantly shorten its lifespan to 15-20 years.

To extend the life of your drain field:

  • Schedule Regular Inspections: Have the entire septic system, including the drain field, inspected every two to five years to catch problems early.

  • Protect the Area: Avoid driving heavy vehicles or placing heavy structures over the drain field. Plant only grass or other lightweight vegetation with shallow roots over the area.

  • Maintain the Septic Tank: Proper care of the septic tank, including regular pumping and avoiding harmful chemicals, prevents strain on the drain field.

Be aware of signs of failure, such as strange odors, standing water, or unusually lush grass over the field, which indicate your system may need professional attention.

Recognizing signs of a failing septic system is crucial to prevent costly damage and health hazards. Foul odors in and around your home, slow drainage in sinks and toilets, or gurgling noises in plumbing fixtures can indicate problems with drainage. Lush, green patches of grass near the drain field or wastewater pooling on the ground are alarming signs that may indicate a leak in the system. If you notice any of these symptoms, it's vital to address them promptly to avoid more extensive and expensive issues.

Depending on the home, wastewater either goes into a septic tank and seeps back into the backyard or is sent via sewer system to a local sewage-treatment plant. Septic systems naturally separate different components of the waste so that it can naturally and safely disperse it. They are usually reserved for homes not served by a municipal sewage department (like rural homes). A treatment plant, on the other hand, speeds up that process through screening and purification.

Pumping involves opening the tank lid, removing solids and wastewater, and inspecting components for wear or damage to maintain optimal function.
