"The technician did an excellent job. It did take a while to get the repair finished, but that was due to Bertazzoni delivering the parts. I have had multiple problems with this particular appliance. My range now works better than it did when new, but I have a feeling that even if I have continuing problems with it, American Home Shield will just repair rather than replace due to the cost of the range. By the way, I'm not exactly sure of the date of the repair."

"We needed someone to install tile around the bathtub at an apartment unit we own. Joey at 2 Daughters Handyman came to the rescue. He quoted us a fair price based on what we could see. However, once he started the work other complications were discovered such as mold behind the existing wall. Joey and his crew were able to take care of each issue and charged us a fair amount for the extra work performed. We were very impressed with his willingness to get the job done in a timely manner. He even went to two or three places on his own to find the tile we wanted. We will definitely use 2 Daughters again and would recommend them to anyone needing his services.

Mold Testing and Remediation questions, answered by experts

Both wood-burning stoves and fireplaces can emit smoke and other combustion gases that are harmful to human health. According to the American Lung Association, wood smoke can lead to coughing and wheezing as well as long-term health impacts like increased risks for heart attacks and stroke.

Newer models meet the modern efficiency standards set in 2020 by the Environmental Protection Agency for cleaner burning, more efficient wood stoves. Regular maintenance can also minimize smoke.

Mold thrives in high-moisture environments, whether that’s steady leaks or just high condensation. Around the house, common causes of mold include leaky pipes, a leaking roof, high humidity, poor ventilation, a damp basement, rotting food in the fridge, wet clothing and towels not hung properly for drying, a leaking foundation, and a leaky air conditioner.

And, of course, if your home suffers from flood damage, you stand the risk of developing mold in the aftermath. That’s why it’s important to act quickly at the first sign of mold.

In most cases, it's not worth the risk of buying a home with mold. You should carefully weigh the pros and cons before making a decision—and there are far more drawbacks than benefits. For one, buying a house with mold opens you up to health risks since mold can cause respiratory and allergic reactions. If the mold is widespread throughout the home, the cost to completely remove it, make necessary repairs, and prevent it from returning is often not worth the cost savings of buying a mold-infested home for a bargain.

Yes. Musty smells in your home usually signal that mold or mildew is lurking somewhere. Both can cause allergy symptoms in those who are allergic. Mold can cause structural damage and serious health issues if left unaddressed.

Most of the health problems associated with exposure to fiberglass insulation are short-term in nature. You may suffer from minor and temporary skin or eye irritation if you come into contact with it, and you may experience some sneezing, coughing, or breathing issues if you inhale fiberglass. Those with asthma and allergies may suffer more and longer. Though fiberglass was once a suspected carcinogen, there’s now no good evidence that exposure to fiberglass can cause lung cancer.
