"Javier and his team are wonderful to work with and they did an outstanding job on some very old floors. Repairing and refinishing. They also painted a room and the same results on that. He cares about customer satisfaction which was evident in how he manages his jobs and his concern for the details I requested."

"I had a fantastic experience with Floorcrafters for my hardwood floor repairs and refinishing. Adam was great to work with—professional, reliable, and easy to communicate with throughout the process. The work area was kept incredibly clean, which I really appreciated, and their attention to detail was outstanding. I couldn't be happier with how my floors turned out. I would definitely work with them again and highly recommend their services!"

"The summer of 2018, we were extraordinarily fortunate to work with the 50-year-old, second generation Santa Fe firm of Babcock Construction known for their expertise in new construction and renovation. We had the benefit of all the Babcock principals of which there are three, the patriarch Joe, who founded the firm in 1968 and his two sons, Richard and Steve each with 45 and 40 years’ experience respectively. All three bring particular specialties, perspectives and gifts to any job. On the team were their long standing first rate sub-contractors: tile setter, electrician, plumber, painter plus their in house carpenters. Our expectations were high, since both of us have backgrounds in new construction, renovation and historic preservation. The job consisted of renovating our Tesuque, NM 3000 sq.’ adobe style stucco house with the work on the garden scheduled for next spring. The three qualities that were present throughout are on-time completion at every stage of the project and attention to a very high level of detail on all aspects of the job. Of equal importance on the job is their overarching belief in solutions, not problems, which dictated each day’s outcome throughout the two and a half months. Other qualities that the three brought were attentive listening and a high degree of collaboration with each other and the clients. This project was a complete success and a pleasurable collaboration also filled with moments of humor and kindness. We recommend them very highly for anything needed done on a house."

"They installed 1500sf of glue down engineered wood in my home. Mike always showed up on time and was one of the few I could get to show up and give a quote (owner-supplied wood). The downfall is in the precision and details of the installation. In the second course of wood laid he left 3 boards with a gap big enough to require putty filling when a careful installer could have pulled them up and fixed them before proceeding. Maybe 25% of the boards sound like they are floated, not a solid glue-down resonance as it should be. Although it was wiped down with mineral spirits when done, I spent about 8 hours washing off the haze left from the mineral spirits. Just an average job overall and I expected more attention to detail and aesthetics. They finished on time. Mike only showed up at the start and after it was done, except for one day when I asked him to come to look. So the installer was on his own."

"The crew that worked on this remodel, led by Alejandro, were prompt in arriving, patient with our questions, and very responsive to our requests. They were very skilled and thorough, and completely changed our home for the better. I highly recommend this company, since it provides full services, such that plumbing and electrical are available from within the organization, as opposed to waiting for subcontractors to respond."

"They successfully closed the gap in the fence, but didn't seem to have the right kind of clamps for the job. They did, however, get it done quickly! Very nice to work with."

Marble Restoration questions, answered by experts

You can’t change the color of the stone, but you can update granite countertops without replacing them by painting them. Because granite is a porous material, you’ll want to seal them first before painting them so that the paint doesn’t hurt the surface. This is important because you don’t want to devalue your counters by damaging the original surface; even if you don’t like the color now, you or a new homeowner may want to remove the paint someday and return them to their original color. You can also cover them with

There are three main downsides to quartzite: the cost, the porosity, and the weight. As a natural stone, there’s a level of scarcity that can drive up the price of certain types of quartzite. Even more common varieties are less affordable than synthetic materials like laminate and other natural stones like granite.

You’ll also have to reseal your quartzite countertop annually to combat the natural porosity and reinforce your cabinets to account for the added weight.

Engineered quartz is an artificial, nonporous material made from a mix of mined ground quartz, polymer resins, and pigments, making it a lower-maintenance option. In contrast, quartzite is a natural stone composed of sandstone, which makes it highly resistant to heat but often requires sealing and more careful upkeep. You should clean both types of stone with non-abrasive cleaners that have a low or neutral pH, avoiding acidic cleaners like vinegar, as well as wire brushes and scouring pads.

You can cut food on tough, scratch-resistant granite countertops. However, these hard surfaces can quickly dull your knife blades, and continual cutting in the same spot can eventually lead to marks forming and compromising the protective sealant. As with any countertop material, it’s always best to use a chopping board.

Quartzite countertops are porous, meaning that liquids can seep into the stone and stain them. You’ll need to seal them before installing and resealing annually, depending on use and stone material. Sealing will help prevent stains and etching. On the other hand, you don’t need to seal quartz and other engineered stone countertops since they aren’t porous.
