"I look forward to working with Ruano’s Landscaping and the team again. They painted all exterior window and door trim. Took the time to sand, treat the wood and painted thoroughly and with care. We are so appreciative of their expertise and definitely a job well done!"

We are a small locally owned, owner operated business that has been serving Santa Fe, New Mexico and surrounding communities since 1994. We are licensed (license # 85802), bonded and insured. Call us to talk about your asphalt maintenance needs and to get a free estimate, no obligation.

"Felipe and his crew did a wonderful job on a difficult project. Our very long driveway and large parking area had been damaged by years of neglect and a two-year long construction project that included much trenching, leaving big gashes in the original asphalt. Superior Pavement came in and made our property look 100% better for a very reasonable price."

"When I got home to unload the gravel, I found that it was completely coated with mud -- the entire 1.69 tons. The next day before I could put the gravel in place, I had to screen and then wash every shovelful. I could not put all this mud on top of the landscape fabric that I had already put down in the yard. (See attached pictures). I called Montano's the next morning and spoke with one of their representatives whom I have done business with for the last several years. I explained that I had bought the exact same amount of gravel 4 days earlier and it was fine. Also, that load only weighed 1.16 tons, not 1.69 tons, so it was clear that I paid an additional 1/3 more for "dirty" gravel. And it was mud, not crusher fines that are often in the gravel. The rep said to bring in both receipts from those 2 deliveries and she would make an adjustment for me. I stopped by 2 days later and the rep who was handling this was not there so I left the receipts (and pictures) with another employee who said they would notify my rep. Five days passed and I did not get a call from them so I called again. The rep was "busy" but would call back. I had to go out of town for almost 2 weeks so when I returned, I called again. The rep was not available so I left another message. None of my calls were returned. On August 29th, I went by their office to see the rep and was told she was not in today. One of the employees asked what I wanted and I explained what had happened (I did not get his name but I believe he is either the owner or son of the owner). He asked me if it had rained before I picked up the gravel and I responded "yes it had rained the day before". He said they could not be responsible for the mud on the gravel and would not make an adjustment to what I paid. I mentioned that their rep had told me should would make an adjustment to which he responded that "she doesn't work here no (sic) more." Then he got up from behind the counter and left the office. Another employee apologized and said they should not have sold it to me in that condition. I mentioned that a neighbor had bought the same gravel from a competitor just a few days after I did from them and did not have this problem. He said that the competitor has a conveyor that they use to clean and separate their gravel beforehand. I asked for my receipts to be given back to me that I had left with them. The employee said he could not go into the reps office. When I asked again, he went into that office (the door was open) and immediately found my receipts and gave them back to me."

Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

While DIY is possible for small areas, professional services provide fast, efficient removal for large properties or heavy snowfall.

DIY snow removal is entirely free, except for the cost of a shovel. However, it may not always be the best option for large driveways and areas with heavy snowfall; it’s strenuous work and can take a long time. Other wallet-friendly ways to remove snow include rock salt, hot water, a de-icing agent, or a leaf blower.

Rubbing alcohol may also remove ice from your driveway in a pinch. It has a lower freezing point than water, which expedites the unfreezing process. Pour 70 percent isopropyl alcohol into a quart or half-gallon spray bottle and spray it on your driveway. You do not have to dilute it with water.

When starting the engine, you typically leave the choke on a snowblower in the "choke" or "closed" position. After starting, let the engine run for a few minutes to warm up. Then, gradually open the choke, moving it to the "open" or "run" position, allowing more air into the engine and transitioning to a normal fuel-air mixture. The exact duration varies based on the snowblower model and ambient temperature, but as a general rule, you should open the choke once the engine has stabilized and runs smoothly, typically within a few minutes.

There are several ways to remove snow from your roof: using a snow rake, salting the roof with calcium chloride, using a rope (cautiously), and using heating cables. It’s important to mention that pretty, fluffy, sparkling snow weighs a great deal, and when physically removing snow from a roof, you should be aware of large snow slabs breaking off. These can weigh hundreds of pounds and are a real danger, so be extremely careful anytime you’re doing this type of work.
