"Adrian from Veteran Electric was very responsive. Actually reached out to me almost before I finished filling out the form on Angiâ s. He responded and was available immediately and helped us to repair several electrical wiring issues with our Home, prior to sale. His prompt response helped us to meet closing dates for the sale of the home. Excellent response, knowledgeable and very easy to work with. Really good experience."

"At first, Lee (an owner) was very accommodating and worked well with us on estimates, scheduling, troubleshooting and  payment  for a nearly $5,000 cost of work on overlapping projects. For the most part, service crews were punctual and professional, though we had to jump in and get Lee to change some of their plans to put conduits in awkward places, attach other conduits to walls instead of fascia outdoors, etc. We realized the house is old and the projects at times were challenging. Certain complications arose that involved extra time or parts, and we appreciated Lee's willingness to stick with his commitments.
Some months ago, after repeated tripping of a kitchen circuit-breaker, Lee came out once and essentially told us he couldn't figure out why this intermittent problem was continuing after the upgrades (we did not replace all the wiring in the attic, as that would have been cost-prohibitive). At that time he said that, due to overloading, a new circuit to the kitchen might be needed, which of course we knew we would have to pay additional for.
Some time went by and the kitchen breaker started tripping again, though I had juggled the electric load and put some appliances on another circuit. I tried to call Lee, left a message and he did not respond.
A few months went by with more or less normal service, and then the problem started to happen again, so I tried to call again. Speaking with the receptionist, I left two more messages, with increasing urgency. She told me Lee had been very busy but she would make sure he got word I was trying to reach him. That was several weeks ago. He never called me back.
Even if he felt he couldn't help us, he should have had the courtesy to return my calls. After spending $5,000 for services from LC Electric, I couldn't even get a response to a problem that could conceivably have been  a result of improper work by his company, or else might have resulted in a new work order. Either way, this is not only unprofessional but lacking in all business etiquette. I can't believe the man was simply too busy. To say we are disappointed would be a tremendous understatement.

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Las Cruces homeowners are embracing Southwest-inspired lighting, smart home upgrades, and LED landscape accents for both style and efficiency. There’s growing interest in solar-ready wiring, EV charging stations, and whole-house surge protection to handle local weather extremes. Decorative switch plates, recessed lighting, and generator-ready panels are also popular, blending modern convenience with the area’s distinctive regional design preferences.

Helpful?

For electrical work in Las Cruces, keep a non-contact voltage tester, digital multimeter, and insulated hand tools for safety. Stock up on UV-resistant wire connectors, weatherproof electrical boxes, and GFCI outlets, as the desert climate and strong sunlight can quickly degrade standard materials. Having extra surge protectors and heat-resistant tape on hand helps protect your system from frequent power surges and high temperatures.

Helpful?

Completing electrical projects in Las Cruces offers immediate safety enhancements, improved comfort during hot summers, and increased energy efficiency. Over time, you’ll add value to your property, reduce the need for emergency repairs, and prepare your home for solar panels or electric vehicle charging. Upgraded systems also help protect against power surges during monsoon storms and may qualify you for utility incentives or insurance discounts.

Helpful?

Homeowners in Las Cruces should consider the region’s intense summer heat, frequent monsoon storms, and high UV exposure, which can impact both scheduling and material selection. Many homes have aging wiring that may require upgrades for safety or efficiency. Flat roofs and stucco exteriors often need specialized installation techniques. Check that your project meets NM electrical codes and local inspection requirements for a smooth process.

Helpful?

In Las Cruces, small electrical projects such as installing new outlets or ceiling fans are typically finished within a few hours, while panel upgrades or adding circuits often take one to two days. Full home rewiring or integrating solar systems may require up to ten days. Be aware that permit approvals and summer monsoon weather can sometimes extend these timelines, especially during peak heat or storm periods.
