"However, I called and relayed my problems to the receptionist, Carol. I indicated that because I am a single mother of three I did not have the finances to replace one of my troublesome downspouts. Carol was so friendly and took the time to instruct me on how to repair downspout myself, which by the way was successful! In the future, if I need to replace my gutters you can bet they will get my business.

"Andrew did the estimate and also led the crew on the gutter replacement. I asked for a couple of changes shortly before the job started, and they were accepted quickly and with zero hassle. I would recommend Estrada Development LLC for anyone looking to get seamless gutters."

"Overall the work was very good. One issue with a leak at a canale was addressed following the first rain event. Ben (the owner) came out frequently to review the work his staff was doing, and came out right away when the canale leak was discovered. He was determined to ensure homeowner satisfaction of the work performed. His workers were very friendly and were very good at answering the homeowner's concerns. The rarity of rain events following the roof replacement made it difficult to quickly assess the quality of their work. Recent storms helped with that."

"Andres Argüelles from NM Premier Roofing provided excellent services. He and his crew were professional, punctual and reliable. They stated a fair price and completed the roof within the allotted time. Jude, the person who handled the paperwork and financial part of the job was knowledgeable and available for all the questions we needed answered. I would highly recommend this company."

"

About half of our kitchen and half of the utility room had become bowed by water leaking under the floor from a water heater.  We discovered the water heater leak and replaced it, but were not aware of the extent of the problem. No one wanted the job!  It wasn't big enough for them. Ramon Acosta of D&R Services determined the extent of the damage and gave us a fair estimate. His team obtained the floor covering we selected and did a beautiful job of putting it down covering both affected rooms after replacing the floor itself.  There was also damage to a door jam that required additional structural work, which they also handled. They cleaned everything up and left nothing for us to have to do ourselves.

Gutter Repair and Replacement questions, answered by experts

Snow and ice can both accumulate on the top of a metal roof and slide off as the weight of the snow increases or as the snow and ice melt. This can rip the gutters off your roof and damage the gutters or the roof if you don’t take preventative measures. Snow guards are one of the easiest methods for helping to prevent snow accumulation on your metal roof from damaging your gutters.

One of the biggest causes of gutter leaks is clogged gutters. If your gutters are full of debris and leaves, water will back up and eventually overflow outside of the gutter. Other common causes of gutter leaks include loosened gutter fasteners, faulty gutter slopes (sagging gutters), separated joints, and cracks or holes.

Buried downspouts can freeze during cold weather as cold water runs through them. If you’ve discovered your downspouts are frozen, you can carefully pour hot water down the top of the downspout to defrost them. If that doesn’t work, you may need to dig your downspout back up. Avoid trying to break the ice from the exterior using a hammer as this can cause cracks and damage to your downspout.

To avoid freezing the future, consider adding a heating cable to the exterior, which can adjust heat based on the surrounding temperature.

In most cases, it makes more sense to repair leaking or damaged gutters than it will to replace them. You’ll spend an average of $400 to repair your gutters, while full replacement will cost around $2,000 or more, depending on the gutter material and style and the size of your home. If your gutters are nearing the end of their lifespan—usually around 20 years for aluminum or vinyl gutters or up to 50 years for copper or steel—then it might make sense to replace them, as it could cost you less in the long run.

If your gutters get overwhelmed every time it rains, adding an extra downspout is a solution. First, you'll need to decide where to add the downspout. If your current setup only has a single downspout, one option is to place a new one at the opposite end of the gutter. If you already have a downspout at each end, adding a third one in the middle can help to lighten the load.

You can hire a professional to add a downspout yourself by cutting into the existing gutter and attaching the necessary parts, such as an outlet and brackets.
