"However, I called and relayed my problems to the receptionist, Carol. I indicated that because I am a single mother of three I did not have the finances to replace one of my troublesome downspouts. Carol was so friendly and took the time to instruct me on how to repair downspout myself, which by the way was successful! In the future, if I need to replace my gutters you can bet they will get my business.

"Andrew did the estimate and also led the crew on the gutter replacement. I asked for a couple of changes shortly before the job started, and they were accepted quickly and with zero hassle. I would recommend Estrada Development LLC for anyone looking to get seamless gutters."

"I had a specific water flow problem from the roof. The house came with no gutter but I had problems with very heavy rainfalls. Banker Building Products were able to identify the areas that needed gutters to channel the water runoff. Just waiting now for a heavy rainfall."

"Andres Argüelles from NM Premier Roofing provided excellent services. He and his crew were professional, punctual and reliable. They stated a fair price and completed the roof within the allotted time. Jude, the person who handled the paperwork and financial part of the job was knowledgeable and available for all the questions we needed answered. I would highly recommend this company."

"

About half of our kitchen and half of the utility room had become bowed by water leaking under the floor from a water heater.  We discovered the water heater leak and replaced it, but were not aware of the extent of the problem. No one wanted the job!  It wasn't big enough for them. Ramon Acosta of D&R Services determined the extent of the damage and gave us a fair estimate. His team obtained the floor covering we selected and did a beautiful job of putting it down covering both affected rooms after replacing the floor itself.  There was also damage to a door jam that required additional structural work, which they also handled. They cleaned everything up and left nothing for us to have to do ourselves.

"The vendor came as promised. He had a power washer and power sprayer. He was courteous and cleaned up after the work. I was so impressed we discussed the siding/sheathing on a second story bay window that needed repair. We quickly decided he could do it, and we reached a reduced price when I let him set the schedule.  He has since done that as well and I have asked for an estimate for some fence repair to be done later this fall. I was impressed and will use this company again - for my deck, and ask him to bid on other handy man projects I don't want to undertake myself."

Gutter Repair and Replacement questions, answered by experts

Unless you've chosen to install underground downspouts, your gutter downspouts shouldn't touch the ground. If they come into contact with the soil or pavement next to your home, rainwater can back up into them during a storm, preventing them from doing their job effectively. Instead, aim to have your downspouts end about 12 inches from the ground.

The average cost to install or replace gutters is around $2,000, with typical project costs ranging from $900 to $7,000. Most companies charge between $4 and $30 per linear foot. The total price depends on several factors, including the size of your home, the complexity of its footprint, the gutter material (e.g., vinyl, metal), and the gutter style (e.g., half-round, custom-built). Additional elements like downspouts, corners, and optional add-ons like gutter guards can also increase the price. The condition of your roof is another consideration, as new gutters cannot be installed on a rotting or sloping roof. While it can be an expensive upfront cost, new gutters are a worthwhile, long-lasting investment for protecting your home's exterior. You can save up to half on labor costs by installing them yourself.

While minimal drippage may not be problematic, gutters that are constantly leaking or overflowing indicate damage or improper installation. A rain chain gutter or other ornamental feature may produce more dripping than usual. Likewise, rain dispersal systems may also cause water to sprinkle to the ground. However, if you notice pools of water or flooding around your property, then it’s a good idea to have your gutter system inspected.

Frequently, when water flows over gutters, it indicates a potential clog, necessitating cleaning. For instance, if a twig becomes lodged in the downspout, it can lead to a traffic jam, causing more leaves and sticks to accumulate. Another potential issue is an incorrect pitch, as gutters should channel water toward the downspout. If you observe water overflowing the end cap or leaking through it, it suggests that your gutters are improperly tilted.

When you need to repair your galvanized gutters from leaks and caulk isn’t doing the job, you can solder your gutters with a roofer’s soldering iron. First, you’ll need to clean your gutters thoroughly with a wire brush and remove rust and oxidized paint. Next, you’ll make weld points on the gutter and solder over the connection until it’s completely smooth. You can also hire a roofing company near you to tackle this project.
