I spoke to a receptionist for the first three plumbers I called and was told by all of them that they would check and call me back. My fourth call was to Charlie's Septic Pumping and I spoke to Charlie. He asked me what was problem was, where I lived and directions to my home. Charlie stated that he would be to my home with in a hour. Since I live twenty minutes from town I thought coming so soon was great. Charlie arrived before the hour was up. He identified the problem and fixed my leak in two hours. This two hour time frame included him having to go back to town for more copper pipe. Charlie assured that the leak was fixed before he left. He replaced my tub surround that he had to pull off in order to get to the leak instead of having to come up from the bottom of the floor. His cost was very resonable. This was to be a work in progress job. Things might change along the way but would work details out as we go. Vanities, toilets, and fixtures were already purchased before finding contractor to finish out job. Found tubs on line and ordered them in. We were waiting for contractor to be freed up to do the job. In the middle of September, I informed the contractor that I was free and I only had four weeks to get this job done before I started jury duty. Contractor informed me at that time that he was finishing up with other projects and would be right out. Excuse after excuse reference to why he couldn’t make it out to start the job. One being that he had to go back and redo some of the stuff on other jobs, didn’t have a baby sitter. His mom was sick in hospital, out of hospital with heart problems and cancer. I understand life has problems but give me a break. Told him to get his mom help and then come see me. This was around October 3, 2013. Well, don’t know what happened to his mom but said he needed to get to work and that he would be out on the 10 to start. I heard this a lot from him so didn’t think much of it. He came out with an estimate of $13,810.19 and wanted half down that day so he could go get supplies and get them delivered that day. Wanted check made out to him and not his business because it would have to go into his business account and would take several days to be able to get the supplies in. Plus, he didn’t have enough cash in his business account to cover the check being $6,905.00. This job would take two weeks at five days a week and eight hours a day, in total 80hours for 10,000.00. Thought this was high but didn’t know where to check the figures. Cut check and he headed to town. Got a call from him later that day saying the supplies wouldn’t be ready until the next day, being Friday. At this time, I told him I didn’t want him to bring his child to work with him again as he had showed up on a number of occasions with the little one. Got call next day from him saying supplies wouldn’t be ready until Monday. Sunday, got call saying he went to Texas and drove into 3 foot of water and van died and wouldn’t make it back. Thought that was strange because, his mom was so sick and to just up and leave her to go to Texas for the weekend. Monday, I called Home Depot to see if he even ordered the supplies and how much were they and did he pay for them already. He did, but that they were ready last Thursday, half hour after he had paid for them. Called me on Tuesday and said he said his mom fell again and was in hospital, which this was 9:30 in morning. He said he had a plumber coming out because he couldn’t do all the work we had requested reference to replacing all the plumbing by 10:30. Again… a no show. Shows up next day with plumber and said he had worked with this gentleman a lot. Got pulled aside and informed by plumber that he had never met or worked with contractor before and he was contacting people to see if he was even licensed because he had no clue whom the contractor was. Was informed that the contractor was not license to do any plumbing or electrical at all. Contractor told me that he wanted plumber to subcontract out and that he wouldn’t do anything until plumber was done. We informed contractor at this time that we were not going to move the small bathroom as stated in the estimate and he had check the level of trailer and it didn’t need leveling. As first agreed upon, contractor was to do all plumbing and electrical with no subcontractors. At this time, I told contractor I would wait to hear back from him and he said he would bring out a new estimate showing changes. Contractor had his one helper gather up the tools which consist of a hammer, chalk line, a nail puller and a leveler. Thought that was strange but didn’t question the move. Got a call from contractor next morning saying he wanted to pick up the wood and take it back to Home Depot to get money back because we would not need the cabinets in new bathroom and the new closet. He still was contracted to do cabinets in the hallway. He had told me he had only 10 days to return the wood so this is why he wanted to return it so fast. Informed him that I would take wood back and please call the store to inform them of it and call me back to let me know if I needed the receipt because I would have to get it from him. He called store and told them I was bringing everything back and I had gotten another contractor to do the job. Home Depot said their police is about a month to return depending on what the item was. I had not told him that or had fired him yet so I don’t know where he had come up with that one. Don’t ever find a contractor in the local paper. Materials: 2,891.66 Labor: 10,000.00 Total Estimate: 13,810.10
½ Down: 6,905.00 Materials Paid: 1,397.92 Reimbursement: 5,507.08
I sent a certified letter informing the Contactor his services would no longer be required and I terminated the agreement and I wanted to be reimbursed for the $5,507.08. Remember, he never signed contract. I’m sure that I will never see any of the rest of the money. One last thing, in the box of items I returned to the store was a tool to do plumbing with. I was paying for his tools……… Run, don’t walk from this contractor. "When we found Winsupply, my pregnant wife and I were extremely excited. Showroom looked great and they had large selection of amazing product to choose from. Our sales person, Valentina, was amazing. An extreme pleasure to work with. Or so we thought. We received our order, which was everything for the kitchen and two bathrooms, complete renovation, and the only thing that was correct was the kitchen faucet and the bathtub. My wife and I were extremely adamant about the bathroom fixtures being matte black and the sales woman ordered all stainless steel. The kitchen sink was suppose to be center drain but we received right drain. We asked for 2 bathroom sinks and she ordered one. Almost the whole order was not entered correctly. Serves me right for trusting a charismatic, what we thought was a very diligent and caring sales person and not going over all the product codes with a fine tooth comb when we made the purchase. On the order form, there is only the product code with no description of the product. I just assumed she entered them correctly. So needless to say it was all our fault for not entering every product code from the manufacturer on the internet when we got home to make sure everything was correct. At no point was it the sales persons fault according to them. Then they tell me it will be an extra $600 if we want the stuff we thought we were ordering in matte black. I’m returning everything minus the tub and the rough in stuff because all that has already been installed and taking my business elsewhere and I strongly suggest you do the same. We are no longer able to move into our new home before my wife has our second child due to this negligence. I would give them zero stars if that was an option."

FAQs for water softener service projects in Hagerman, NM
The license requirements for water softener installation depend on your location. Some municipalities require that the installer hold a plumbing license, some require a permit and an inspection, but no license for the installer, and some require a permit and a license for the installer. Regardless of the local laws in your area, it’s always a good idea to hire a licensed plumber or installer. These pros will install your system properly and have the experience to size the system appropriately. Use Angi’s state licensing tool to check your installer’s license status.
Water softeners are worth the money if you live in an area with hard water. Hard water is safe to drink, but it poses serious threats to your plumbing system. The minerals in hard water will gradually build up on the inside walls of your pipes, reducing water flow to your fixtures. The minerals can also gradually corrode your plumbing system, reduce its lifespan, and increase the risk of leaks. Hard water also makes soap and detergent less effective. Water softener systems can solve all these issues, making them a great investment.
It’s possible to install a water softener yourself, but we don’t recommend it. Water softeners require working with copper pipes and electrical wiring, neither are suitable tasks for most DIYers. Plus, working with water and electricity together is dangerous and could pose a risk to your safety. Water softeners also need to be calibrated so that they don’t make your water too soft, as soft water poses just as many risks as hard water. Overall, it’s well worth hiring a local water softener installer to place your water softener system.
The cost to install a water softener system is $1,500 on average, ranging between $200 and $6,000. The labor for water softener work typically costs between $150 and $1,000, so you can add that to your equipment costs to get an accurate total. Your price will depend on many factors, including the following:
System capacity
Home size
Water hardness levels
Type of water softener
Presence of electricity in the installation area
Local permit costs
Your water softener size is based on your total household water consumption. In most cases, you can assume the average household member will use around 75 gallons per day. Multiply that by the number of people in your home, then multiply by 10 (for the typical grains per gallon). You’ll get a number in grains that should help roughly size your water softener. However, it’s best to hire a professional to install your system and use more exact numbers, like your exact average water consumption per day and starting water hardness.
