At Desert Winds, we pride ourselves on outstanding attention to detail, flexible scheduling, reasonable pricing, and the greatest customer service. Give us a call today for your painting projects, and let us make your home the envy of the neighborhood!

"Do not hire these guys. They are not professional. No prep, no power wash, no patching, no primer as was written in the contract. Absolutely no communication from them when I try to reach out. Let paint scrapings everywhere. Paint droppings everywhere as the never used a drop cloth or even a piece of plastic. They even cleaned brushes in our yard! After no response from a phone call I sent an email explaining my disappointment and have heard nothing back."

We specialize in painting both interior and exterior. We also do roofing, flooring, and landscaping. We could also do trash removal.

Fences, sheds, coops, kennels, porches and wooden patios are my strong suites. I believe quality comes standard along side integrity.

"Chris and Shelley were very good at communicating with me! I got a great deck on my place, and the place was painted. Not to mention the old deck had to be demolished. It was a great success, and I am looking forward to a quote next year for the back room. I tried to post a positive review on this, but somehow it did not show up. I hope this one does."

Fence Painting questions, answered by experts

Stain is meant to be absorbed by the porous wood, allowing some of the natural grain to show through. With that in mind, you don’t want to add more stain than the wood can absorb, as you risk covering up its natural markings. Generally, two coats is the maximum you should do, although very dense hardwoods may only be able to take a single coat.

You can apply stain over peeling stain, but it’s not a good idea. Your old stain will get in the way of your new stain bonding to the wood, so you’re likely going to see the same issue again shortly after application. Your best option is to sand off the old stain and clean the surface thoroughly before applying new stain.

Adding a second coat of stain to wood can even out the color to some extent, but it won't drastically alter the hue if the initial application is too light or too dark. It's more effective at enhancing the richness of the color rather than significantly changing it. Ensure the first coat is dry before applying the second.

You shouldn't paint a metal fence. Painting doesn't necessarily damage a corrugated metal fence, but these types of fences are meant to flex, and paint can easily chip and break off. Latex paints can address this issue, but those tend not to be very weather-resistant. Certain paints can trap moisture in the corrugation, which can rust the metal and lead to corrosion. And finally, if you paint a copper fence, it won't patina, which is one of the main reasons people buy copper.

We don’t recommend it. A wired brush or a brush with metal bristles damages concrete and asphalt during the stain removal process. For the best results, stick to nylon stiff enough to do the job but gentle enough to keep from scratching the driveway. For extra caution, skip the brush entirely and use towels.
