Lionel laid out the job in detail, provided a thorough estimate, and came in on budget. Based on that excellent experience, we had him build us a cabin in the mountains. Lionel was an exemplary contractor, laying out the project, establishing both fix prices and allowances based on the component of the job, and stuck to these prices without the shifty add-ons that you get from many contractors. His workmanship is superb, and he has a network of subcontractors who also performed at a high level. He ensured that his workers and subs kept the job site clean and completed the work to his exacting standards, even if that required additional work. Finally, he worked with my wife and me to make sure the finished product would exceed our expectations. In the case of our cabin, there was no mystery about the budget, and no surprises - the cabin came in on budget as well. "Before you hire Sears Home Improvement (aka **Transform**), you should first understand and consider just how poorly this company treats its customers. Please understand that hiring this company will certainly result in an excruciatingly painful project. I would neither wish nor recommend this negative experience to anyone. I hired this company to remodel my kitchen. Here are some data points from my project: - The project started 66 days after my contractually promised a start date. No communications were given by a project coordinator to indicate delays, leaving me wondering if/when the project would start at all - When the project finally began, a subcontractor showed up and worked for 3 days to completely demolish my old kitchen, and partially install new cabinets. They left me with nothing functional. - The company then proceeded to leave me stranded for an additional 76 days with no sink, and no way to cook for myself. - They failed to meet their obligation to install a temporary sink (as promised in our contract) and missed their obligation of **substantial project completion** by 61 days. - They refused to complete 2 major scope items (plumbing and electrical work) approximately 100 days into the project, citing information available to them on the first day I signed their contract. They initially offered me credits for only half the cost to cover these items elsewhere, forcing a week-long negation process. The subcontractor who actually did the work in my home was fantastic. However, the company overall caused me so much pain and suffering that my new kitchen is not even worth the final end product."

"It did not go well. I got conflicting stories from various people. When installers came, one did not speak any English. Neither introduced themselves. The countertop, despite two visits and laser measuring, was done incorrectly, with gaps at all four corners of the sink. They tried filing it in with adhesive, which fell out the next day. They then sent another person who did fix with gaps - albeit there should never have been gaps, but the guy who was to reset the sink, left it dripping on my rug, and then did not put it in straight and I had to insist that he sealed it. They left a mess both times when they left, and never apologized, and I never received a follow up on my satisfaction. The quartz itself is good quality but the service was bad and I would never use them again."

"For the initial consultation Mr. Varela arrived on time. He took time to listen to the whole story about my roof and the failed attempts to fix a leak I had going directly into my kitchen. The main priority was established to fix the leak in the roof before anymore damage was done. Later the metal roof was installed and I am very pleased with my new roof! Mr. Varela and his crew are all very professional and very courteous. The workers always asked permission to access areas where this was a gate and when finished you couldn't find a scrap anywhere. No detail was ignored as far as dealing with everything on the roof such as antennas and my swamp cooler. Very well done! Thank you so much Fort Selden Roofing!
