I cannot say enough positive things about this excellent company. I woke up today and my furnace was not working! No one in town could manage to come and help me on an emergency basis--they all said they could come in December--December! Can you imagine? I'd be frozen to death by then. BUT CARTWRIGHT'S WERE SO CONCERNED, AND CAME OVER VERY QUICKLY!! Jorge and Elmer arrived and the furnace problem was fixed rapidly. They were so professional and pleasant to have in my home, so I will definitely use this company again for all heating and cooling needs.

The service person came and unclogged my toilet within 5min. He used a manual "snake" which took care of the clog. Then came the sticker shock. $441 for unclogging the toilet. I should have checked before calling Cartwright's. Never again.

The absolute WORST SERVICE TEAM IN NEW MEXICO. I called for a a furnace repair back in the beginning of November. The technician charged me almost $200 an hour, plus the $60 transportation fee, and charged me for a used power cord. The problem was not fixed. I kept in contact with the technician to try different things. The technician came back down because there was a 30-day guarantee on work and found that my filters were dirty. He cleaned those out and kept in contact with me as to whether or not it corrected the problem. It did not. He then ordered parts which took several weeks to come in, charge me an additional $200 an hour plus the $60 transportation fee (even though there was a guarantee of service). When I asked him why it was going to cost me a total of over $600 to fix a furnace that is still not working, the office manager started yelling in the background that if I refuse to pay my bill that they would put a lien on my house in four days. at no point in time did I say I was refusing to pay my bill. Then she got on the phone and told me that it took a month and a half for me to pay my bill the first time around, when the bill was paid and my receipt was in hand at the time of service. Then she started accusing me of sitting around and avoiding my technician's phone calls, while it has been snowing. I work 13-hour shifts and gave my technician as well as the office staff my father's phone number if I was ever unable to be reached. The office manager continued on with telling me that it was my fault that my furnace isn't fixed and continued speaking down to me as if I weren't going to pay my bill. Then when I said I will not pay her, I will pay my technician because I didnt want to speak to her anymore, I paid and he had the audacity to tell me that "if the payment didn't go through he would go ahead and give me a call", while the office manager is still yelling in the background that she was going to put a lien on my home. Everybody, with this company is extremely unprofessional, lazy, and has a ridiculous lack of customer service. Avoid this company like the plague.

Mario and Ryan came very quickly and diagnosed the problem. They quickly fixed the problem and the red pump alarm light went off. All is now well. They were absolutely super and even offered to shovel my driveway! I very highly recommend Cartwright's and Mario and Ryan.

Everyone is very nice.....But. They charged about $175 just to come out and look at the system. The maintenance work took about 30 minutes, minimal parts, and the charge was about $750. I definitely felt taken advantage of, but I figured, OK, at least the heating system is in good shape. But then my heating system started leaking a few days later. The leak was apparently caused indirectly by the maintenance work, because gunk fouled a component; this happens, not that surprising, but I should have been warned. At that point I called a different plumbing company to fix this. This other company (TLC Plumbing) charged only about $460 including a part and about 30 minutes of labor. The TLC technician also explained a lot about how the heating system works which was very helpful.

The first guy came on a Saturday afternoon, spent about an hour working, and couldn't free the clog. Said he would return Tues morning (Monday was a holiday). I waited until 10am, no phone call, so called the dispatcher. She said my plumber was off that morning! I asked her to send another plumber ASAP! The second guy came an hour later and cleared the clog in 5 minutes.

Our A/C quit working in the middle of July. I used Angie's List for the first time to find a repair service company. When I called Cartwright's they made me an appointment for the next day and told what charges to expect upfront for the service call. The Service Technician was was on time, courteous, and professional. He diagnosed problem quickly and explained what was wrong and the cost of the repair. He was able to source the needed part for the repair the same day by making another 40 mile round trip and stayed late to complete the repair on a Friday evening. Needless to say we were very happy to have our A/C working again and the repair cost was much lower than we thought it could have been . We were highly pleased with the service and would recommend Cartwright's to anyone in need of HVAC work.

Since 2013, I've chosen to use Cartwright's on behalf of ownership of Canyon Village Apartments, exclusively, for our Property.  Further, I request to have Mario as our main technician, having developed a working relationship with him on behalf of Cartwright's, to service both our HVAC and plumbing issues.  When he hasn't been available, we've had other techs, but Mario knows our property very well and any issues that have come up.  The few other techs we've had were likewise efficient but Mario exceeds them.   With 130+ apartments and townhomes to maintain for the benefit of the residents, we work to keep everyone as happy as possible and that means professional, prompt service, on-call, from all vendors.  We have had, since 2013, calls for AC replacements, AC airhandler repairs and replacements, large water heater repairs/replacements and regular plumbing issues when our staff was on vacation.  Cartwright's has consistently responded to calls for service and Mario has kept us informed about parts he may need, return times, etc.  Further, he's taken the time to explain the work to be done, the work that was done and how something has broken and what to do to avoid it otherwise.

In dealing with the office staff at Cartwright's, which is infrequent during the year, they've been professional and courteous as well.

Our Management company doesn't allow perks or other benefits from vendors to property Managers, so this is an unsolicited review.  If, for some reason, Cartwright's work quality and professionalism slipped, I would edit this review to reflect that.  But we've been satisfied with their service, very pleased with Mario's work and expect this to continue.

Ed showed up promptly, inspected the job, explained his diagnosis, explained in detail my options and put together an estimate of costs of repair. After I accepted the estimate and authorized the work, Ed left briefly to get the needed parts and returned a short time later. He worked quickly and his work and demeanor was friendly and professional. When I need HVAC work in the future, I will call Ed and Cartwright's first. I recommend them to anyone in need of their services.

My wife and I have been customers of Cartwright?s Heating & Cooling for four years, and during that time, Ed Romero has been our radiant heat/boiler service technician. For most of that time our radiant heat system worked fine, and required only minor repairs and seasonal maintenance.  Unfortunately that changed this past year  when our system failed, plaguing us with runaway heat. It was a complex problem and between the failed valves,  broken thermostats, and mismarked floor zones, it took an expert to troubleshoot the entire system and get it back on line. Ed Romero did just that. He not only repaired our heating system, he mapped and marked the zones and wires so it can be easily maintained going forward. That kind of professionalism is rare in today?s world, and is highly appreciated by befuddled customers. I might add that Ed always arrived at his scheduled time, or telephoned well in advance if he was going to detained with another client. Thanks Ed, and thank you, Cartwright?s Heating & Cooling! Ed?s patience and exceptional customer service make him a standout in his field and a professional we can recommend with the utmost confidence.

Had no plumbing hammer until they serviced the boiler -- then the hammer began big time
Paid $650 to have the hammer issue resolved
After that visit (the second visit) they left a badly dripping pressure relief valve that had never leaked before
Took a third visit to replaced that value
Still have some plumbing hammer and now have no heat to the house -- not so good of a result
Changing plumbers today!

I called them because the hot water tank was leaking. I was going out of town for a week in two days and didn't have time to get other estimates. I used another company to replace a 40 gallon hot water heater at my Mom's the next week. They used the same brand and hauled away the old one for $950. I think I was taken advantage of by Cartwright's.

I was told when the plumber called to collect the payment it would be $280.00 for just coming out to diagnose the problem.  They told me if I did not pay immediately that they would put a lean on my home.  That seemed a little intense.  I do not recommend them and will never use them again.

Did not check gas pressures or anything that the manufacturer recommended.  Tech was not responsive to requests to check other problems.  No itemized bill. Got my money back when I complained.

I used them a year ago in November. I had to have carpet and tiles removed after the huge problems they caused. We have used them for years. I didn't realize they had been sold to someone else.  I had two outdoor faucets that were dripping a little bit. The plumber came and he said that the reason they are dripping is because the pressure valve is old and needed to be replaced. He worked for two or three hours on this pressure valve which happened to be above the main water heater out in the little room off the front patio.  A couple of days later, I noticed the carpet in my hall was damp. I called my son and he came in. This was on Thanksgiving day. He saw that where this pressure valve had been installed, the water was shooting right straight up in the vent above the water heater which was draining down through the bathroom wall, under the tile and tub and seeping out into the hall. I called them back and they sent an emergency man out. He said it was terrible. The man had not welded anything properly and he fixed it. The following day, the owner of the company came out to assess the damage. He was rude, angry and he did not even speak to me, like it was my fault. A week later, they brought in huge fans for the bathroom and the hall. They felt they might have to tear the wall down in my bathroom, but they were able to dry it. I had those roaring fans in my house for ten days. I rang the owner and told him, he needed to pay for my tile and carpet as they needed to be replaced. He initially said he would pay for half of the damage. I told him, he was responsible as it was his plumbers fault. He told me he would pay it. I got an estimate and faxed it to them. They said it was no problem and they would pay for it. I had the work done and I paid the bill. I faxed the bill to Cartwright's Plumbing Heating and they have refused to pay for any of it.
The quality of the work was awful as the plumber was incapable of doing a welding job. The owner is a rude, nasty man.
