"Felt very secure with Anthony, first with the time he took with measuring and again with installation. We had other companies come out to get multiple bids, however Anthony did such a great job, took his time and presented options so well, there was no question we would use them. He is outstanding, his customer service stellar and we would use them again and request Anthony. He is truly an asset to the company AND the window coverings are great!!!!"
"Simply outstanding. The price rating is slightly lower than an A simply because they appear to be the most expensive; however, you get what you pay for. We interviewed 5+ contractors for the repair job. Each presented different level of price/product/recommendations on what was needed to repair the original stucco to make it last for 20+ years. A somewhat complicated solution to fix a crack down the entire side of the home needed to be installed along with some serious freeze/thaw repair on all the parapits. Work was outstanding and the super + crew assigned to the job was easy to work with. I watched in the beginning to make sure they were doing what was promised, then gained confidence and quit watching the work. They are at the top end of the price scale, but I am confident you get everything you pay for with a top quality job. Having experience with many contractors on upgrades and repairs, these guys are the best contractor I used in the past 10 years in Albuquerque. "
"They were efficient in terms of the process. They sent the pad in a reasonable time frame. I did have to call a couple times. It took about a month to deliver. They sent the material which was packed nicely. There were 2 issues: 1-the glue or adhesive they used smelled badly. I had to put in my garage for a couple weeks until that 2-every corner was protruded, the table pad corners were too sharp on the mat .which poses risks with small children. I called about that and they said to put some tape over it. The manager called back to discuss the issue was. She suggested that I try to fix. it. The company might have done something to repair if I had followed up."
"D&R did a tremendous job of repairing my cracked and buckled drywall. The quality of work was amazing and even brought his team out during the service to evaluate other work at my residence. Their team was extremely professional, produced high quality results, and was extremely well priced. This was by far my best experience on Angie's List and I highly recommend D&R to anyone who needs work done. "
"Mike is fantastic! I went with him based on reviews - the reviews don’t lie! Mike is very professional, trustworthy, honest, efficient, and went above and beyond for us today. Fixed a leaking sink drain, no problem; put a new sliding closet door track and hanging hardware on the doors, no problem. But, when I detected another possible problem, he went above and beyond to inspect the issue and offered to help fix it! He also does painting, so yeah, we’re having him back!!! Look no further for your handyman and carpenter needs! Thanks Mike!"
"They arrived on time and were pleasant and professional. I would have been happy if the ceiling seam was the only thing they fixed. That was mainly a one man job. The other man went through my house fixing other cracks, including a large ceiling crack in a back bedroom. At the end of the 2 hours (4 man hours) they would have stayed and finished some small repairs at an additional charge. I declined. They did a partial cleanup. They would have stayed to finish cleaning up, but since I had definitely gotten my hours out of them, I told them I would finish cleaning. They did exactly what I wanted them to do, and they did a very good job. I do recommend them, and would use them again. "
"Could not have gone better, quick responce, great customer service, qaulity work. We needed some repairs on our roof, researched Angies list and then there happened to be an emal on Angies list Big deals, took avantage of this and it was well worth it. "
Window Shutter Repair questions, answered by experts
Plantation shutters cost an average of $2,990, making them one of the pricier shutter options. However, they offer a 75% return on your investment and are great options for boosting curb appeal and property value. Most people go for plantation shutters for their timeless, vintage look. They also provide the strongest light blocking and temperature control for your home.
The average shutter is designed to last 20 to 25 years. Proper maintenance for the type of shutters you have is essential for helping them reach their full potential.
Not all windows are suitable for shutters, as certain styles can prevent them from functioning correctly. It's best to avoid installing shutters on bay windows, picture windows, dormer windows, and double-mulled windows. Shutters are better suited for large, full-size standard windows or French doors.
Additionally, consider the room's lighting needs. Since shutters effectively block light, they are an excellent choice for rooms where you want more darkness and privacy, such as a master bedroom or a main living room. For window types that are not ideal for functional shutters, some homeowners choose to install fixed (non-functional) shutters to maintain a consistent look across the home.
The most popular estate shutter brands include Hunter Douglas, Budget Blinds®, and Graber®. Hunter Douglas shutters cost $20 to $26 per square foot and include high-quality hardwood and faux wood options. Budget Blinds shutters cost $20 to $24 per square foot, depending on if you choose natural wood or another material. Depending on the material, Graber shutters range from $18 to $24 per square foot.
Shutters are still very common in Southern, farmhouse, and traditional-style homes, especially those in warm climates who can benefit from the increased efficiency. While modern homes and designs tend to shy away from shutters, shutters are a timeless design style that will likely be around for decades to come.
