"Abraham gave us an estimate in February which was lower than one of the big fence companies. Due to the whole Covid thing, they were backed up with work until May. In the end, I’m glad we waited. They removed an old chain link fence and replaced it with a 6ft. cedar fence. The fence was done with galvanized screws instead of nail gun and we chose pipe instead of 4x4 wood for uprights. This fence will last a long time."

"Great company and great folks. They were prompt in getting our fence installed and it turned out great. They are a local company and even reached out a couple of times after to check in on the fence. I would recommend them to anyone for fencing work."

"Conrad showed up on time and built the exact fence we wanted. He was a complete professional and a joy to work with. I would recommend "The Amazing Repair Specialist" for any fence repair/replacement. He does all handyman tasks; but we have only employed him for the fence replacement."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

Split rail fencing is a type of post and rail fencing. Other post and rail fences include corral board and post and dowel. Post and rail fencing is the term used for any type of fence with vertical posts, horizontal rails, and nothing else (specifically excluding pickets). So, technically, a split rail fence is a post and rail fence.

When choosing wood for a fence, consider your budget and geographic region. The most popular and common types of wood are cedar, redwood, and pressure-treated pine. Cedar is a top choice due to its natural durability, resistance to rot and insects, and budget-friendly price. Redwood is another durable, tried-and-true option, though it is typically more expensive. Pressure-treated wood, such as pine, is also a widely used and popular alternative. These materials are readily available at most hardware stores, which makes future repairs and replacements easier. Their accessibility and long-lasting performance make them excellent choices for most fence installation projects.

If possible, it is beneficial to paint both sides of your fence to protect the fence more completely from the elements. Painting both sides of your fence will create a more consistent appearance as well. However, the time and cost involved in painting both sides of the fence may cause people to paint only the side they see.

Yes, finding compatible materials and finishes for seamless fixes.

A barbed wire fence will last an average of 15 to 20 years, but the life expectancy can range anywhere between five and 50 years. Thicker wires last longer, as do fences made with galvanized metal. If the barbed wire fence is in a climate with harsh winters and summers, it likely won’t last more than 10 to 15 years. Failing to keep up with maintenance and repairs will also shorten the lifespan of a barbed wire fence.
