"They installed some mirrors in my home and it was amazing. They were fast, efficient and polite. They explained the process step-by-step and showed me the material they were using before hand. They scheduled their appointment promptly after calling and arrived 15 minutes before arriving. The quote was free."

"Literally getting the phone call from them within 60 seconds after I entered my information. The job is done with reasonable price within 1 hour. Replacing stained glass is not an easy job everyone else can do, glad to see skilled people can take care of this around NY area."

"We had been trying to quite a while to find someone who could replace our round-top front door without losing the character that the original door gave to the house. We found Andrew and his team on Angie's List. Andrew quickly and accurately estimated the time and cost of the project and was confident that he could complete it and meet our requirements. Once he had the door completed, he and his team came and had it installed in a day. The job also required a new frame, paint, threshold, etc. Everything was completed perfectly with fit and finish. A very clean, sharp, perfect build for which my wife and I are extremely grateful. There is no question that we will rehire Cosello Construction again soon for additional work. What a great experience!"

Glass Block questions, answered by experts

Glass block installation can be relatively expensive due to the range of material costs and the labor time to assemble this type of specialty window. The process proceeds slowly as the glass does not absorb moisture from mortar and silicone caulk takes longer to harden, leaving spacers to hold up the structure until the caulk or mortar begins to cure. Plus, if your current windows have structural issues or damage, you’ll need to repair them before beginning the project, increasing your bottom line.

Glass block windows come in various patterns and styles that offer privacy and unique aesthetics. Frosted or textured glass diffuses light and enhances privacy. Wave-pattern glass blocks imitate ocean waves with flowing lines. Ice-glass blocks resemble cracked ice. Fluted glass blocks feature parallel vertical grooves, adding texture and depth. Clear glass blocks, similar to glass Coke bottles, offer transparency with some distortion and may have smooth surfaces or subtle textures, adding visual interest.

DIY is possible for small projects, but professional installation ensures proper sealing, structural integrity, and a precise finish.

You can still see vaguely into some types of glass block windows at night. Although there won’t be clear definitions, passersby may still see shapes, shadows, and movement through the glass. If you want complete privacy, consider installing diamond glass block windows rather than the typical clear or wavy glass blocks.

Yes, many professionals provide custom-cut glass replacements for enclosures that require precise sizing.
