"MNM Group came in and did an absolutely fantastic job replacing 70 year old drywall in our kitchen. They were able to make the old walls which have studs which have bowed over the years perfectly smooth. Great mudding, hanging and edging around an old house. Biggest plus is they're up front with you on the estimates, great communications, respond to texts fast and arrive within minutes of when they say they will."

"I am very particular about the contractors who I bring into my home so consequently I do my due diligence when researching potential partners on our home repair projects. I spoke with David Travers multiple times with regard to the drywall repair needed in both my kitchen and basement. I found him to be knowledgeable, polite and professional. Victor, did our drywall repair and he did an excellent job. I appreciated how meticulous he was throughout the project but especially his attention to cleaning up afterwards. I would definitely recommend The Patch Boys of Central Jersey."

"I had the pleasure of hiring Mayron to restore my water-damaged kitchen. Their professionalism, attention to detail, and excellent craftsmanship surpassed all expectations. They seamlessly put walls and cabinets back together, installed new lighting and tile, and painted with precision. Impressed with their work, I also had them redo my bathroom. "I met Jeff and milliy 2 years ago from a search online.they painted my kitchen and cabinets and did a wonderful job.hired them this year to paint and plaster rest of house. This was a tough job because it's an old house, solid walls, and a lot of repair work.they again did a beautiful job.the plastering and painting was done so well it looks like there was damage to begin with. I recommend them highly because they are professional, very hardworking and perfectionists.they clean up after they're done and show up when they say they will.i couldn't be happier with their work."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Brick and stucco are a lot more different. You must use picture hanging clips designed for brick walls, or use a plaster rail system with adjustable hooks. Any other type of hanging hardware will cause damage to the bricks behind. You won’t be able to really use nails, either, because they’re not strong enough to go into the bricks.

Some textures are easier than others to DIY, but the short answer is yes, you can absolutely texture walls yourself. You’ll need certain materials, like a trowel or paint sprayer, but the most important things you’ll need are patience and time. DIYing wall texture can save money and be a fun, messy project, but homeowners need to know that adding texture to a wall isn’t a quick project.

Mudding drywall is a DIY-friendly project, but patience and practice are required for perfection. If you’re working in a highly visible area and want the best possible finish, hiring a professional drywaller is worth the cost. Pros have the tools and know-how to ensure a smooth surface with fewer sanding sessions and less cleanup.

Plaster itself has a higher R-value than drywall. However, there are other considerations surrounding plaster and insulation. As a general rule, it's easier to obtain consistency in insulating value and quality when working with drywall rather than plaster. Plaster walls often don't contain any insulation behind the wall covering by design, and careful evaluation is necessary when choosing to add it.

Yes, drywall nail pops are a common occurrence in homes, both new and old, resulting from the settling and shifting of the structure over time. Though not present in every room or on every wall, encountering nail pops in different sections of a home is not unusual, particularly if the temperature, humidity, or foundation has experienced changes.
