At Meadowlands Decorating Center we specialize in custom upholstery of all kinds; Residential and Commercial projects. We do Upholstery and Re-Upholstery. From all kinds of sofas, chairs of all kinds-antique to contemporary, we do kitchen banquettes, headboards, restaurant seating, hotels, churches, hospitals and mall seating, and new foam for cushions. We are not able to stitch seams, color or repair leather! We can bring the fabrics, vinyl or leather to you and can provide you decorating assistance with your re-upholstery, window and drapery projects! We design and make custom draperies and custom window treatments including all types of blinds, shades and shutters as we are Graber, Hunter Douglas and Alta distributors. We do all our own window and drapery installations as we provide all the hardware and rods. We do not install customers own window treatments or hardwear. He not only did a beautiful job with the upholstery, but he fixed damage caused by a prior upholsterer (separated joinery & broken wood) and matched the wood color on the damaged chair, which was previously stripped. It was completed in 3 weeks and cost $600 (excluding fabric). It was very reasonable compared to other quotes I received, plus it included pick up and drop off. "These people are impossible to deal with. They said they weren't sure if they could clean the part of the rug that was stained and they couldn't guarantee that my rug wouldn't run. (It's been cleaned before. Didn't run at all.) The price they quoted was pretty high and didn't include blocking the rug. Blocking doubled price to over $800. On top of that, after it's cleaned, they charge you to lay the rug back down. I decided not to have them clean the rug. There were too many issues and they gave me no confidence in their ability to do a good job. They said they would charge $87 for not cleaning the rug. They gave me a 5 hour window to bring the rug back. I stayed home and waited for them. They left the rug with the doorman. When I called to ask why I had to wait 4 hours if they weren't going to lay the rug, they said they charge an additional $32.50 to lay the rug. The only good thing about this company are the really nice, professional guys who deliver the rugs. (I paid the $32.50.) My advice - go elsewhere."
