"The Marioni crew were amazing! The service was top notch! Removing wallpaper from 3 large areas and one small area was no easy task. They did the job and it looked fantastic. The painting was flawless. Above all, the crew were so accommodating to my special needs brother."

"A and Z did wallpaper in my daughters room and did an amazing job. They were available the next day after I contacted them, brought all their own materials, and finished the job in under an hour. The wallpaper looks absolutely gorgeous you can’t see any seams and everything is beautiful!"

"After talking to several painters, I hired A+  to strip wallpaper and paint several rooms in my house in preparation for resale. The service, price and quality of workmanship was exceptional. The work needed presented a few special challenges -- restoring damaged wall surfaces and matching discontinued paint colors -- but the time and attention  was given to overcome the obstacles and get the job done right. I would not hesitate to use this provider again.

"Howard and his crew did a great job removing decades-old wallpaper from our foyer, stairway, upstairs hallway and master bedroom. They then repaired the drywall, skim-coated everything, and primed and painted the walls. They also primed and painted (with three coats) all the upstairs bedroom doors and closet doors and trim, which had been previously stained and varnished with a very dark finish. And they did it all in two days. They were fast, professional, and neat."

"My wife has said “I love my kitchen” almost every day. From the original 1950s era kitchen, two walls were removed and the rest was taken down to the studs. A beautiful counter was built between our new open kitchen and dining room, both recessed lights and pendants were installed as well as new flooring. One reason I decided to use this builder is that Harry has the ability to take care of every aspect of the project. He and his workers are skilled with carpentry, plumbing, flooring, painting and excellent tile work. He outsourced the electrical, new HVAC and granite to quality people. Because Harry has done so many similar jobs, he gives appropriate guidance as to what styles, colors, etc. would work best. For instance, he basically rearranged our expanded bathroom and it looks great. Overall, we are glad we selected Harry and his crew at the Bathroom and Kitchen King."

"I was hosting Christmas Dinner at my house this year, and was running a tight schedule. I needed my kitchen's wallpaper removed and paint redone asap as it was getting old, peeling and fading. I organized a price and a time with Tim and Charlene, and they handled everything perfectly. They came a tad early, finished everything we needed to, stuck to the agreed price, and gave some extra maintenance and style advice! They were dutiful and professional, and I constantly felt like they wanted this to go well for me. Absolutely going to call them next time I need a room painted."

"It was a difficult project requiring the removal of current siding, then significant patching, sanding and carpentry to prepare the original clapboard for paint. The crew was very hard working and super creative when it came to solving problems. They showed up on time every day and finished the project according to schedule. The price was very reasonable and no surprise charges. We are very pleased with AAA and would highly recommend them."

"The bathtub/shower of our 35 year old home is on an outside wall that includes a window. When the outside tiled wall started to break, we found that the tub surround (three walls and ceiling) was tiled over regular wallboard and shower water had infiltrated. Rather than just repairing the wall break, we decided to replace the (original) tub and have all the surround wallboard replaced by the proper cement board. Peter removed the walls, did the repairs necessary to remedy the water infiltration behind, installed complete new Durarock as tub surround, installed a new tub and tub/shower plumbing/fixtures. He also framed around shower wall window, then completely re-tiled the three walls and ceiling. And he installed a grab bar and a washcloth bar. We chose to do all purchasing, but consulted with Peter throughout the process (by e-mail or phone).
Throughout the process, Peter was reliable, conscientious, and skilled. We valued his expertise in helping us make decisions and his manner in speaking with us. And we love the results. We hope to use him for future remodeling.

"John came to my house to give me an estimate on the day I called him. We scheduled a time to hang my wallpaper within 2 weeks. Prior to calling John I was waiting over 2 months for installation. John is an expert. He does not waste expensive wallpaper. He knows what he is doing. My job was tricky because it was a hallway with different ceiling heights. John knew how to make details of my wallpaper the focal point on the wall. Very knowledgeable."

Wallpaper Removal questions, answered by experts

While many types of peel-and-stick wallpaper can be used in bathrooms, they may not adhere as well in humid environments as traditional wallpaper. For best results, choose a vinyl or polyester-based wallpaper, as these materials are more durable and water-resistant. Good ventilation is also crucial to reduce humidity from steamy showers. In bathrooms with high moisture and inadequate ventilation, even high-quality peel-and-stick wallpaper is likely to peel over time.

Accent walls can feel out of place or distracting if not well designed. Accent walls that don’t fit in with a room’s style can feel jarring or overpowering. Some accent wall styles can also feel dated, but fortunately, it’s easier to update a single wall than an entire room.

While you can remove wallpaper yourself, it is a labor-intensive process that risks damaging your walls. Common DIY methods include using a steamer to loosen the adhesive or spraying the paper with a solution of hot water and vinegar or dish soap before scraping. However, steamers can cause irreparable damage if used incorrectly, and the spray-and-scrape method can harm drywall if it gets too wet or you scrape too aggressively. For these reasons, hiring a professional is often the fastest, easiest, and safest option. A pro has the experience and specialized tools to remove wallpaper efficiently without damaging the underlying surface, which saves time and minimizes the prep work needed for your next wall treatment.

Yes, you can pay someone to strip wallpaper. Before you hang new wallpaper, you should hire a local wallpaper removal service to prep the surface properly. Wallpaper removal pros cost $0.55 to $1.50 per square foot or $500 to $700 per room. Prices vary by room size and removal technique, as some options are more labor-intensive.

Think hard before deciding to German schmear your home’s exterior brickwork. If you do not like the look, you are pretty much stuck with it, as it is impossible to remove this finish the way you can remove paint. You risk damaging the underlying brick if you have to chisel and acid-wash it away. It will also take a very long time, and remnants of the mortar wash will always remain.
