"I had so very much to move. I did not really know how to pack and would not have been able to pack all my stuff as I had agreed, without the moving men's assistance. It was a long snowy day. The movers were professional and delivered my belongings in excellent condition. I did tip the men and really wished I could have given each man twice what I gave. I highly recommend this moving company."

"The guys were very professional, thorough, kept a smile throughout the move. Moving can be quite stressful. They actually took much of the stress out of the move for me. I have used them twice now. I will use them for all of my moving needs. I highly recommend them because each time they exceeded my expectations."

"The movers that came we’re extremely nice and efficient. We moved large furniture along with lots of fragile items and nothing was damaged. I would definitely use them again!"

"Capital City Movers did an excellent job moving my furniture to a new apartment. Brandon, the relocation consultant, was very courteous and gave me the best price of all the movers I met with. On the day of the move, the team was punctual. They packed all my items carefully and then set the new apartment up perfectly. I plan to use them again for future moves."

"The movers came on time, were friendly, cooperative, amazingly efficient, and carried my piano up 29 steps and around a narrow bannister without a problem. They were able to work within the allotted time so that I didn't have to pay anything extra, and before the move, all of my questions were promptly and thoroughly answered. Great Movers really deserves its name!"

"It's not a good experience because I am missing my Apple Watch. I bought an Apple Watch and I can't find it and they don't know. This is not good. I also had a tv stand and the bottom broke and it caused imbalance of the tv. I don't want to accuse, but I still can't find my watch. I didn't notice my watch missing and the tv stand broke until a month later. It would be hard for me to accuse, so I just left it alone. I thought that the whole move could be done in 5 hours and it took them 6. Now, I was moving from apartment to apartment, ground floor to ground floor. I thought it would be quicker. I remember we took a break and I got them food to eat. That wasted maybe a half hour time. It took another additional hour. I ended up paying another $100 and on top of that he was asking me if I can give everyone a tip. What I did was give everyone a tip and additional $100 for the extra hour and I gave them food to eat. I paid for their lunch and gave them a tip. They did hard work. I even helped them move some furniture myself. It wasn't like I was watching them. I was helping. I think because of the speed they were doing it, it shouldn't be 6 hours. They tell people to pay for their lunch and then to tip them. It was a $400 watch and I think about it everyday. Maybe it's not their fault but I know that I was missing it after we moved. It was my fault that I put it in a place that they were doing work. I don't want to accuse. I don't know what really happened."

Piano Moving questions, answered by experts

Since mirrors are fragile, it’s important to find an experienced moving company that can properly move fragile items. You should always consider online reviews and testimonials. If you don’t know where to start, these tips to hiring the best movers can help.

The average cost to hire professionals to move a gun safe ranges between $200 to $525. The cost varies significantly depending on the safe’s size, weight, and location. However, the total bill can increase if it is a large safe and a complex move. Consult a local moving company that specializes in safe moving to determine the estimated cost of this service.

The cost to ship furniture can range from $300 to $4,500 per piece, depending on the size and weight of the item and where it’s being shipped to. For a cross-country move, which companies consider any distance over 400 miles, it will cost $300 to $800 per piece to ship furniture. For an international move, shipping will cost around $1,000 to $4,500 per piece.

Old pianos can be hard to sell for a few reasons. Pianos fifty years or older may only sell for several hundred dollars and will often cost more to transport to the new owners. Restoring a piano also costs well into the thousands, making it pretty hard to make your money back. In most cases, donating or recycling the parts of a piano is more cost-efficient and beneficial in the long run.

Moving straps like forearm or shoulder straps can usually support up to 800 pounds, sometimes more with specialized straps. However, that doesn’t mean that one person can always lift that much weight, just that the straps are rated for that amount. For example, some straps require two people working together to balance the weight of the heavy item.
