"He said to me, don't focus on the wiring just watch the TV instead. I waited three days later, went to Home Depot and purchase a white stick post and just layed it over the wirer because he nailed and tacked everything to the wall. Its working out, that's how it's going."

"I came home at 8pm last night from an 8-day business trip to find my house an uninhabitable 45 degrees. My furnace had apparently stopped working several days earlier, and the temperature inside dropped to nearly the same temperature as was outside (low 30s). After I checked the circuit breaker to make sure that this wasn't a "fix" I could handle, I grabbed the phone and called Temp-Rite LLC, who had done work on my AC unit a number of years earlier. (I had their magnet on my fridge.) Ten minutes after I left a rather desperate-sounding message, I got a call back from Sharon, who had already pulled up my old records (and therefore knew my address), asked me a few questions, and told me she thought she had someone who could be there within 30 minutes. She called me back 5 minutes later to tell me he was on the way. Matt arrived a half an hour later, and within another 20 minutes, had diagnosed the problem and replaced the bad part with a part he luckily had in his truck. I had heat! Before he left, he told me he needed to return the next day with a completely new piece. This evening, he rang the bell at the appointed hour, replaced the interim part, and we're completely good to go! I couldn't be more pleased! Sharon was as cordial and caring on the phone as if she were a friend -- and it was apparent that Matt knew his business well. He was responsive to my questions, obviously knew what he was doing, was respectful of my home, and thorough in his follow-up (jotting down on the invoice information about my furnace -- model, age, etc. -- and a part that he identified might be starting to wear out -- all so that, if I have any future problem with the furnace, he'd be able to bring specific parts with him that might be needed. I would use Temp-Rite LLC again in a heartbeat."

"Was able to get an appointment at my convenience, salesman Jeremy was both knowledgeable and personable. Jeremy helped me get the best equipment for my concerns, and together we determined what pieces could wait until I could afford to add more. I was offered a lifetime servicing plan for the equipment at no cost to me or for replacement. The keypad is an awesome piece of equipment (which Larry installed and did an outstanding job with!) and once it was up, I was sort of sad that I didn't just leave it as a "desk top" option that Larry had mentioned so I could move it around the house with me. In hind sight if I had known more about the benefits of leaving it as a desk top option, I probably would have opted for it. But initially I thought it was a "short cut" to install, which it would not have been. By far the coolest thing about 1st Security's service is the fact that they use alarm.com, from which I can arm and disarm my system from my cell phone. No juggling at the door, sprinting to the keypad, etc. I also have a peace of mind that I have never really had with Front Point, Guardian or other security services since I can actually see my alarm activity online and on the app. The system also allows up to 239 individual passwords that you can assign to family members or others you hire to do work at your home. My only disappointment is with signage for the house. I want 2 security signs for my home (relatively higher crime area) but was given one and told he'd get the other one to me only after I offered to pay for it (which honestly, I should not have to do - the more signs in my yard, the better advertisement for your company). Also they "were out of" window clings/stickers, something I want immediately upon install. Larry said they were on order and he would get the stickers and extra sign to me as soon as they were in. I'll update you on that when I get them."

I have been an electrician for 5 years and I take great pride in my work always. I am capable of fixing and installing just about anything but will not hesitate to tell you if the job is too big or complex as i do not want to provide mediocre work just to make some cash. Some of my typical service includes: Electrical Panel replacement, adding recessed lighting, ceiling fans, outlets, lighting fixtures, troubleshooting, etc. Very willing to work with budgets.

Home Automation questions, answered by experts

A fireplace can increase a home's value by as much as 12%, with some reports indicating that homes with fireplaces list for around 13% more than the median sale price. Fireplaces are both functional and aesthetically pleasing, adding a charm that many homebuyers find desirable. The actual return on investment depends on the fireplace's size, type, and material.

However, a fireplace can detract from a property's value if it is unusable, not up to code, or in need of immediate repairs. The type of fireplace also matters; custom electric fireplaces and inserts can add value, while freestanding units that can be removed have less impact.

Fresh baseboards can increase a home’s value because they refresh the look of your walls. This can make a good impression on buyers and potentially boost your home’s resale value. This is particularly helpful if your existing baseboards are in bad shape, which can age the look of your walls.

Consider also investing in the cost to install shoe molding for an extra-polished look that can further boost resale value.

Choosing a high-quality home stager can mean the difference between your home flying off the shelves or sitting on the market for weeks or months, and it all starts with verifying the stager’s experience. You can start by asking how long the professional has been in the business, and you should also ask for references and examples of past work in your particular area. Ask the stager about your options, including virtual staging, furniture rental, and other preparation services.

The main factors to consider when staging your home when selling are your budget, number of rooms to stage, and how long to keep the staged setup. Since home staging costs about $600 per room when using professional services, you may want to only stage the rooms that are most important to potential buyers, including the kitchen, living room, and primary bedroom. You should also consider which repairs or updates are necessary before staging your home, such as painting interior walls, carpet cleaning, and refinishing hardwood floors.

The impact of a walk-in tub on home value depends on various factors, including market demand, demographic preferences, and overall home features. While some buyers may view it as a desirable accessibility feature, others might see it as a niche amenity, potentially limiting the pool of interested buyers. However, it could add value if the walk-in tub meets specific needs or enhances the property's appeal to a target demographic. Ultimately, its effect on home value varies case by case, with factors like installation quality, design, and neighborhood trends playing roles in determining its impact.
