Tom was courteous, professional and knowledgeable. Everything was done without any mess or disturbance. Tom is now running the company under a new name "Finn Mechanical" after having been a partner with Jerry Schiavo at Temp-Rite, who just retired. We will continue to use Finn Mechanical including for a project the coming spring.

We were very pleased overall with Temp-Rite.  They installed a single-zone Mitsubishi cooling system in top floor bedroom with high ceilings where the central AC unit was ineffective.  The condenser unit was mounted to the chimney.  Temp-Rite met us on a Saturday which was very convenient for us.  The technician called to confirm the appointment; he was punctual and knowledgeable enough so that he could discuss several different BTU and installation options and provide a price during that same appointment.  Scheduling the installation was straightforward and the installation was professionally done.  The unit works very well and really cools the whole top floor even though it was intended for just the one bedroom.

They were awesome. The heating was well and it is more efficient for an air conditioning. The electricity to run all four units cost the same as one conventional old style window air conditioning unit. They came out and inspected the property to figure out the best placement of every unit. It took them two days to install it and they're very professional, clean, they explained everything very well and they gave you tons of references to call to ask about them. We tried the air and everybody loved them so I have nothing bad to say about them.

They came quickly, fixed it quickly, and gave me 10 minutes of pointers of both showing me the problem, and on how to make the furnace run a little smoother in the future.

We called Temp-Rite in the afternoon on Christmas Eve when our heater suddenly stopped working. They had someone out to our house within 30 minutes! The only reason our heater didn't get fixed on Christmas Eve is because their supplier had already closed for the holiday; I have every expectation that on a non-holiday we would have gotten our heat back the same day. When they came back first thing in the morning on the 26th, fixing the heater took about three times as long as estimated because of the age of our heater, so we expected there might be some additional labor fees. Instead, the price remained as quoted. On their way out, they even stopped to checked our airconditioning unit to make sure it was up to EPA standards. I would absolutely call Temp-Rite again!

This is the third time we've used the Temp Rite guys to install a ductless AC system in our old house. They always do a great job. We barely had to do anything more than point to where we wanted the units installed and they figured out everything else without needing any additional input. They showed up on time on the days of the install, and stayed until almost 10:00 pm the second day to make sure everything was finished up. The install quality was great -- everything was straight and true, and neatly covered up. This was not an easy install, as they had to pass the interior pipes through a ceiling and several walls to get to the outdoor unit. They even found a convenient place to install the drainage that I had not even thought of. We ran the units for a month after the install, and everything worked perfectly. We would definitely use them again -- their guys have great attitudes, are hard-working and polite. Highly recommend.

From the quote to the completion of installation I could not be happier.

Jerry worked with me very patiently to get the right system for my house (a 1300 sf twin) at a very fair price.  I did have other estimates from 2 other companies and it was clear they were not listening to my needs....they quoted what they wanted to sell me, not what I wanted to buy.



The installation took place on the hottest day of the summer.  The installers were very professional, did great work, and insisted on staying until the job was finished, even though I encouraged them, because of the heat, to finish up the following day.



Jerry is a professional, personable gentleman and the installers were the same.

The workers were professional, friendly, and thorough. The installation was the day after July 5th on the July 4th weekend and the company worked us in during a heat wave when we desperately needed air conditioning.
Because babies and the elderly are especially prone to heat related problems the owner of the company was sensitive to our needs.
His workers stayed until 11:30 pm finishing the job after starting early in the morning.
The workers patiently explained how to operate the system and cleaned up well after the job was done.
We would recommend them to anyone needing a central air conditioning/heating unit.

Emailed Temp-Rite through their website for a general quote.  Jerry, the owner, responded  with a general quote and I set up an appointment after work on June 24th to get an estimate.  I liked the fact that I was under no pressure or given a hard sell.  Jerry emphasized that the decision was mine and mine alone and he would give me two estimates, one with new coils and a compressor and one without the new coils.   Later that same night, I was emailed a detailed estimate.  The next day I called and arranged for installation for the week of July 1st . I was very impressed with Sharon, the office manager, who handled my calls.  She was very considerate and said my installation would take place rain or shine.  I was called the night before the installation to confirm what time the techs would arrive and was offered to have them call me when they were on their way.  
The technicians arrived on time  and before starting asked me if I had any questions.  The existing outdoor condenser was replaced with a Carrier Model 24ABB3 using the new R-410 A refrigerant type, a heavy duty pad for underneath the unit, the replacement of the indoor coil and new line set along with a new coil and coil box, new electrical connection from the existing outdoor switch to the new unit, and a new PVC trap inside. 
The entire job took 6 1/2 hours to complete.  The technicians cleaned up and removed all debris before leaving. The lines going from the outside to inside the house were properly sealed.   I was also instructed on the proper cleaning of the permanent air filter I was using, cleaning and maintaining the PVC trap, and given a general description on the working of the unit and the coil unit.  
The techs were very patient and very willing to answer questions.  
I am extremely pleased with the quality of service and attention to detail from Temp-Rite.  I highly recommend Temp-Rite and will use them again to service my heater and air conditioner needs.

I was in the market for a Mitsubishi high energy efficient a/c unit.  I contacted four contractors and Jerry (owner of Temp-Rite) was the only one who measured and reviewed the layout of my rooms to establish he number of BTUs needed for the compressor and inside air units. He reviewed the size and location of the windows, and discussed the best locations for the inside units to get the maximum effect.  I had very little space to put the compressors outside.  Jerry was the only one who recommended the compressors be hung on the outside wall, high enough to be out of sight (these compressors are thin). Jerry is a certified Mitsubishi installer, and because of that, my manufacturer's warranty was extended to seven years.  Jerry also had the best price of the four contractors.  The two gentleman who installed the units were knowledgeable, considerate, polite and worked very hard. Because the men worked well into the night, it took only 3 days for installation.  Before they left, they made sure everything worked and went over instructions with me to make sure I knew how to run my new systems.  Jerry and Sharon ( from his office )were always available to me to answer any question I had.  They completed all the rebate papers and sent them to the manufacturer.  I just waited for the check. And, they provided my written factory warranty.  I didn't have to do a thing, Jerry and Sharon took care of it all. Today, a year latter, I have had no problems with my units. I am extremely satisfied with the product and installation. I highly recommend this company for their workmanship and integrity.

The installers were very meticulous and were aware of not damaging anything inside the house during the installation.  Cleanup was thorough and their work was professional.

Originally we had only wanted it for an unheated porch, because of the heating option in combination with the air conditioning. We interviewed several contractors and were appalled by their lack of competence to even calculate the BTU properly. Jerry, the owner of TempRite, was like a breath of fresh air. He was on time, no nonsense, explained everything to us competently and got back to us with a quote in no time. As he had already explained to us during his visit, because the porch isn’t insulated, it would have required a very big unit with the appropriate cost attached to it. We opted to forgo this but had instead a split unit system put in in 4 other rooms, where we were unhappy with the current arrangement of wall air conditioning units. Again, Jerry was on time for his visit and went over everything with us in detail and sent us a quote quickly with all the information. We opted for units that could heat and cool, and were very happy we did, as we used the heating function a few times over the winter. Tom and Mike, his work crew, were extremely competent, hardworking, clean, polite und helpful during the installation. We were so happy with the system and its performance once it got hot, that we decided to install it in the rest of the house. Again Jerry impressed us with his competence in figuring out where units would go, which BTU we would need, how to run the lines on the outside of the house so they would blend in et cetera. He was available for questions any time. We had 7 more units installed and it took a total of 5 days. Tom and Mike worked quietly and competently and caused as little disturbance as is possible with any work of this kind in a house. We have been using the system for a couple of weeks and are extremely happy. When we had a noise in one of the units the first night and called Jerry in the morning  and Tom was going to come by that very day at the end of his workday to fix it, but fortunately by then it had gone away by itself.   Throughout the process we felt totally confident that we would get excellent work and we were not disappointed. We can say nothing but good things about the owner, Jerry, and his crew of Tom and Mike. We will continue to use them for the maintenance of the system. Most highly recommended.

A few years ago we had high velocity AC installed on our upper two floors. While the first floor cooled a little, the air did not mix and it became stuffy on hot summer days. It was prohibitively expensive to install another high  velocity system on the first floor, and our neighbor raved about her Mitsubishi system that Temp Rite had installed a few years earlier.
I met with Jerry the same week that I called for an appointment, and he provided me with all the information and gave us a quick estimate with the options we wanted to consider. 
We decided to go ahead and we were scheduled within two weeks. On the day of the install, two guys worked professionally and respectfully in our home until the two units were installed.  The installers accounted for our desire to minimize the appearance of lines on the outside or inside of the house.
I am thrilled with the product and with Temp Rite. I definitely will call them again in the future for any HVAC issues.

 Jerry came out to do the estimate. Observed that we had the proper gas line and electrical service. He warned us that the job would take 7 or 8 hours and that they would start at about 10:00 AM.  Provided an estimate within a couple of days.   He quoted 2 devices, one that was about a thousand dollars more, but is more efficient.  He did not try to up sell to the more expensive unit, but just brought it to our attention.  After reviewing our gas bills, it was clear that the more efficient unit would never pay for itself.  I Called the office and accepted the proposal.  We scheduled the install a couple of weeks later. 
Installer showed up on time.  An assistant came by later.  The installer was capable and friendly.  He spent the day dismantling the old water tank, mounting the new heater on the wall and moving the gas and electric service to the new location.  At about 8PM the system was up and running and working perfectly.  They removed the old water heater.

The system has been in and working for 2 weeks.

Tom showed up well within the window the office told me he'd show up, both for the estimate and for the work. He was nice and knowledgeable. The quote was not the lowest I got, but I liked their responsiveness and punctuality, and chose to work with them. I was not disappointed. 

It was a small firm and I dealt directly with the owner.  He was very helpful in terms of picking the right unit and the right size for our needs.  I didn’t get the feeling that he was trying to oversell us more than what we needed.  It was a good workmanship.  There was one very small issue with one of the parts of the heater which was making too much noise.  They came out and replaced it.  We had no problems after that.

Their price was competitive. Their service was good and the staff was very professional. They did their best.

They were great. They did a great job. They worked great. In a lot of these old houses there are weird rooms and configurations. They did a great job in figuring out how best to install them.

I cannot say enough about the how happy we have been with every aspect of our interaction with this company. Initially Jerry the co-owner of Temp-Rite LLC, spent many hours over several days evaluating our heating system and offering various solutions to the many problems which confronted us. Eventually we agreed on a heating systems which included a new high efficiency boiler, hot water heater and two Mitsubishi split ductless units, among other things. The new boiler includes ten separate heating zones. Our job was very complex. We have a large older home in which may rooms were not heated and others were inadequately heated by two different heating systems, one of which (the gas fired boiler) was sixty years old. The walls (and floors) of our house are twenty-two inches thick and certain of the rooms of the house were not connected to any heating sources. We wanted to modernize the systems and bring heat to all areas of our home. We contacted a number of heating companies. Many companies contacted were not interested in getting involved and would not even bid on the job, given its complexity and potential problems. We did eventually obtain three estimates. Each contractor recommended a different approach to the system. The most reasonable priced and thoughtful system was proposed by Jerry. At first we were uncomfortable with this company because it was much smaller then many of the better known and larger HV/AC contractors in our area. Despite our concerns we decided to use this company. This was a very good decision. Jerry, his partner Tom and their associates did an extraordinary job installing this complex system in our home. Everything works as promised. We were very impressed with the thoughtful manner in which the work was performed. Each day the house was left clean and tidy. During the course of installation we decided to make certain changes in the initial proposal. These ?add ons? were reasonably priced. Most importantly, everyone at the company genuinely seems to care about the quality of their work, they really wanted us to be happy with the new system. They are talented, extraordinarily competent, trustworthy and truly decent individuals. We had no problem leaving them alone in our home. Neither my wife or I have ever taken the time to complete a review on any of the many contractors who have come through our home, but these guys are so extraordinary we felt compelled to write this review.

I have a weil-mclain high efficiency boiler with radiant heat system and baseboard radiators. I purchased the house, as a new renovation in July; however, when we need to use the heating system for the first time it didn't work. I called Jerry and Tom at Temp Rite and they were fantastic. Actually, better than fantastic. My new home has had nothing but problems and my builder disappeared, but Jerry and his company came in spent hours with myself and my wife explaining what was wrong with our system in a professional and courteous manner. I would recommend them highly to anyone and they deserve all the great ratings on this site.

I came home at 8pm last night from an 8-day business trip to find my house an uninhabitable 45 degrees. My furnace had apparently stopped working several days earlier, and the temperature inside dropped to nearly the same temperature as was outside (low 30s). After I checked the circuit breaker to make sure that this wasn't a "fix" I could handle, I grabbed the phone and called Temp-Rite LLC, who had done work on my AC unit a number of years earlier. (I had their magnet on my fridge.) Ten minutes after I left a rather desperate-sounding message, I got a call back from Sharon, who had already pulled up my old records (and therefore knew my address), asked me a few questions, and told me she thought she had someone who could be there within 30 minutes. She called me back 5 minutes later to tell me he was on the way. Matt arrived a half an hour later, and within another 20 minutes, had diagnosed the problem and replaced the bad part with a part he luckily had in his truck. I had heat! Before he left, he told me he needed to return the next day with a completely new piece. This evening, he rang the bell at the appointed hour, replaced the interim part, and we're completely good to go! I couldn't be more pleased! Sharon was as cordial and caring on the phone as if she were a friend -- and it was apparent that Matt knew his business well. He was responsive to my questions, obviously knew what he was doing, was respectful of my home, and thorough in his follow-up (jotting down on the invoice information about my furnace -- model, age, etc. -- and a part that he identified might be starting to wear out -- all so that, if I have any future problem with the furnace, he'd be able to bring specific parts with him that might be needed. I would use Temp-Rite LLC again in a heartbeat.

Jerry came out promptly to give estimate and was very friendly. Within a day, he called with the price and set up a time for the crew to come out. They arrived promptly and were very polite and considerate of my home. They removed the old units and replaced with a high efficiency Carrier unit. After completion, all trash was removed and Tom walk me through all the work performed and showed me how to operate my new thermostat. A few days later, I received a Thank You card from Temp-Rite, LLC. Not many businesses do that today!
