"Jozef transformed our dated and dark kitchen in to a beautiful bright oasis by replacing our doors, drawers and hardware. We also added soft close hinges and rollout shelves. He also refaced our large bathroom vanity. Jozef is friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, reliable and professional. He provides expert guidance and suggestions through out the process. He is a perfectionist (in a GREAT WAY), detailed oriented and measures everything multiple times to ensure proper fit. He is also meticulous, protecting surfaces as he works and always cleaning up at the end of each day. His workmanship is masterful and the quality of the materials excellent. And probably most important - Jozef is reliable. He calls and arrives when he says he will. We loved working with him and would HIGHLY recommend him"

"First and foremost I would like to say Thank you to Ayman at Skyline Professional Painting, for painting my furniture a table, and 2 chairs.. appreciate the color choice, and we agreed that Satin black would be a better choice. The transformation from natural wood to black Satin was achieved, Your craftsmanship is outstanding! I love the smooth finish and the way the color turned out. I'm so impressed with how Ayman brought my old furniture, a 43-year-old kitchen table 3 piece back to life. It Was given to me as a gift when my Aunt passed away. And I didn't want to replace it.. and I have had that Table for over 15 years now. With great memories, and I did not want to buy a new one and replace it because that's where we would sit and have great conversations and eat in the kitchen. The paint job is perfect. Can't say thank you enough to Ayman. Such an amazing job on my furniture! The new color looks fantastic, and the way Ayman handled the details is incredible. It's complete"

Closets questions, answered by experts

Hanging and folding clothes are efficient ways to pack your clothes during a move. When choosing a packing method, consider the type of clothing you’re packing. For example, clothing such as dresses, suits, blouses, and items made of silk and similar fabrics are ideal for hangers. On the other hand, it’s easier to fold pants, shorts, t-shirts, thick sweaters, and more.

There are a few reasons custom closets are expensive: materials used, the luxury factor, and time to build. The people who can afford custom closets are those who can afford increased rates, and construction workers and contractors know this and charge accordingly. The time to build custom closets is substantial, especially if expensive material is being used or intricate details (like carved wood) are added to the project.

Yes, adding a built-in or custom closet generally increases your home's value and makes it more attractive to potential buyers. A well-designed closet adds utility, organization, and a touch of luxury, which are appealing selling points. Most homeowners see a return on investment (ROI) of 50% to 60%; for example, a custom closet can add about $1,000 to your home's value on average. The specific ROI depends on the type, with custom walk-in closets typically providing more value than reach-in closets. However, to maximize value, ensure the closet doesn't significantly detract from the room's usable square footage. Converting an entire room into a closet can actually lower your home's value. Similarly, using overly lavish materials may not recoup their cost. A good strategy is to add a closet that takes square footage from a non-living area, such as a garage, to create a mudroom closet.

You can turn an adjacent room into a walking closet by just rearranging the room. This means removing the furniture and adding racks and an island in the center if you have that in your budget. Houses with two bedrooms connected to each other are great options for large walk-in closets that don't require any structural changes or much building whatsoever.

You can design your own closet, but it’s usually better to hire a professional to do the work for you. Not only will you get years of design experience to guide you toward the right layout and material choices, but you’ll also only pay slightly more hiring a professional than you would creating your own plans and hiring a carpenter. A high-quality closet designer can provide insight into how to lay out your closet, and they may be able to find you a good deal on the carpentry or complete the work using an affordable, in-house team.
