"Neil and his team are an absolute pleasure to work with. We looked at a few different companies before hiring and I could not be happier we went with Closets to Adore. I can’t say enough good things about them, their work, and their products."

"Excellent from start to finish. The price was reasonable and the quality of the work and the product itself was as expected. They forgot a belt rack, but once I contacted them to let them know, they scheduled a time to come out right away to resolve the problem. Would definitely recommend them."

"The process could not have been easier.  George made the selection process a breeze and his crew was so neat and professional. He even stored the components until the builder had the closets ready for his installation. I would highly recommend this company.

"Gene and the boys are amazing contractors and are our go to when there is work that needs to be done on our home. They remodeled our basement, and did a custom builtin to house our 180 gal fish tank. They removed a wall to make the basement more open space. Not only that but they did it cleanly, efficiently and in an amazing turn around time. They also more recently helped to fix our crown molding around our fridge in order for us to buy a bigger one and it looks exactly like the rest of our kitchen. We couldn't be happier with Your Way contractors and we will forever be repeat customers. Thank you Your Way! Also anyone who is looking to do work, I highly recommend the team."

Closets questions, answered by experts

We use storage in nearly every room of the house, so it's no surprise that we lose track of things from time to time. The best way to organize storage is to declutter each year to cut down on auxiliary items that can be donated or tossed. Once you decide what's worth keeping, create an inventory list for all boxes you won't open for at least six months.

Tiny house living requires creative solutions to the one biggest issue: space. Many people in tiny houses find life most manageable if they practice minimalism. Eliminating excess items and clutter makes the living space feel bigger, which can be a significant mood booster. It can also be challenging to get utilities arranged for a tiny house, and building and zoning codes can and often do present unique challenges to overcome.

How many days it takes to remodel a closet will also depend on the scale of the project. Small changes like installing a prefab kit will eat up an afternoon and no more, while a total renovation could require several days to a week. If you’re planning for the latter, plan to secure other sleeping arrangements while construction is ongoing.

There are certainly luxury upgrades you can make but you can seriously improve the look and functionality of a closet without spending much money. Color matching will make the closet seem bigger so any shelves painted the same as the wall is a good tip. While pre-made closet organizers may seem expensive they offer an aesthetic look that's hard to achieve with DIY methods. Lastly, removing clutter and unworn items will help the closet seem bigger and cleaner.

On average, building a custom or built-in closet costs around $2,100. However, the total price can range from as little as $500 for a simple DIY project to $6,000 or more for a large, high-end custom closet. Most projects typically fall between $1,500 and $5,000.

The final cost depends on several factors, including the closet's size, type, materials, and features. Here is a general cost breakdown by closet type:

  • Reach-in closet: $500 to $1,500

  • Walk-in closet: $750 to $5,000

  • Wardrobe: $2,000 to $6,000 or more

Choosing a prefabricated closet system is generally less expensive than a fully custom build. The scope of design and construction services will also significantly impact the price.
