Customers say: True professional

"I am so grateful to Johnnie and Chris from Mid Hudson Home Restoration! My husband and I hired them on two separate occasions. First hire - there was water damage in the basement and possible mold. I consulted with Johnnie over the phone and he quickly arranged for a visit. He quoted us that the work will be done in 3-5 days. Johnnie and Chris carefully took apart the dry wall, remediated the mold, and sealed everything up again in the timeframe they promised. They also repainted our entire basement and did a great phenomenal job. Second hire - we had a ceiling leak from an unknown source. Johnnie cleared his schedule for us and came immediately once he saw the video we sent. He found the source of the leak within minutes and over the next couple days, replacing the ceiling and sealed everything up. Johnnie and Chris are detail oriented and thorough with their work. Above all, they are warm, honest people who truly care and take pride in what they do."

"I called All Pro this morning to see if someone could come by to look at a potential mold situation (we had a leak in our wall) and give us an estimate on cleaning it / remediation. Not only were they able to schedule someone to come the same day, but when Tom showed up he was punctual, professional and honest. He took a look at the situation and was candid about options to take care of it.  He never pushed any services on us, and in fact we are going to "clean up" ourselves. I wouldn't hesitate to call and use this company again."

"It went well. The owner and his 2 helpers were fast and thorough. I had additional stuff to be removed beyond what the deal covered. All went smoothly. Price seemed very fair. Will definitely use them again for the other 1/2 of the garage!"

"So glad I found Michael online!! I was originally referred to a different inspector by my agent but soon realized he was very rude and gave me a lot of attitude when I first called and asked for an appointment (in addition to giving me much higher quote). Bumped into Michael / Home Logic through a simple internet search and so far it s the ONLY thing that has gone smoothly with our first home buying experience!!! Thank you Michael for being thorough and generally helpful with me, and for being a pleasant person to work with. I trust your judgement given your education and background. I d definitely refer Michael to all of my friends and family"

"Lewis arrived on time, viewed the problem and suggested a reasonably priced remedy. I agreed to do it with him on the spot and he had his man come back later that day and complete the job professionally and efficiently. I would definitely use them again."

Biohazard Remediation questions, answered by experts

Yes. You should use this product in a well-ventilated area because the fumes can be harmful. In addition, the product is poisonous if swallowed, so keep it out of reach of children. Wood finishing products that are oil based can cause irritation to your skin, so you should always wear gloves when handling it.

Symptoms of sewer gas poisoning include nausea, dizziness, extreme drowsiness, and headaches, according to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. Exposure to higher concentrations for long periods of time could also lead to unconsciousness due to a lack of oxygen, aka suffocation. If you think you’ve been exposed to sewer gas for a dangerous amount of time, seek medical care immediately. Do not return to the site of exposure, after you’ve received medical care, call a pro for help.

Yes, mold behind drywall can affect your health, even if it is not visible. Mold releases spores and mycotoxins into the air that can be inhaled, leading to various health issues including respiratory problems, allergies, asthma symptoms, coughs, and other infections. While individuals with pre-existing conditions like allergies, asthma, or weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable, anyone can be affected by prolonged exposure. Additionally, if left untreated, mold can spread throughout your home and compromise its structural integrity, resulting in costly repairs.

Popcorn ceilings have fallen out of popularity for several reasons, though opinions on them can vary. The primary drawbacks include an outdated appearance, difficulty with cleaning and maintenance, and potential health risks, as ceilings installed before the 1990s may contain asbestos. As design trends have shifted toward sleeker, more modern finishes, many homeowners now prefer smooth ceilings for their clean look and easier upkeep. However, popcorn ceilings do offer some benefits, such as excellent acoustic properties for noise reduction and the ability to hide imperfections. Some also appreciate their retro charm or find them to be a cost-effective solution. Ultimately, whether they are "bad" depends on personal preference, safety concerns, and aesthetic goals.

Wood tables are susceptible to mold growth, especially if they have been water-damaged. In fact, anything made of wood in your home—from tables and chairs to cabinets and floors—can grow mold since wood is both an organic material and a porous one. Major flooding and water damage are likely candidates for mold growing on your wood table, but it can also happen simply if the wood table is in a humid environment.

You can kill the mold with a proprietary cleaner, or simply a diluted bleach or even cleaning vinegar or dish soap. Always wear gloves, protective eyewear, and a face mask when dealing with mold.
