"I contacted Diane's company to inquiry about the possibility of contracting her people to repair my new bathroom vanity, which had been damaged by my bathroom contractor, rather than have the contractor replace the entire vanity. Diane shocked me in two ways: (1) she explained to me in the most thorough and understandable way possible why my vanity couldn't be repaired to match its original factory condition (2) she offered to write me a letter, which she did, to explain the reasons for this in a professional manner. I haven't encountered such an honest business person in a long, long time. As a matter of fact, I've grown cynical about contractors in general, because recently I've experienced quite a few instances where they have been less than honest about their work and are willing to perform inferior work for which I paid good money. To top it off, they never apologize for doing the wrong things! Again, Diane will personally explain to you if she can repair something or if she cannot. For that, I rate her highly. Thanks, Diane!"

"I hired Anthony after my previous contractor was always cancelling on me and not showing up. It was refreshing to have a true pro come in with 40 years experience and solve all the problems that were left in my kitchen. Anthony also had great ideas and recommendations that helped in our decision making on completing our kitchen renovation. He was very fairly priced and gave us an itemized breakdown of the costs. I would highly recommend Anthony for any project big or small. He is in my contacts for future projects!!"

"Dave and Josh refaced my cabinets and did an absolute fan nominal job. They were always on time, neat, precise and very attentive to detail. Everything was neatly put away each night before leaving. Plastic was put up to keep the dust down and they were a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend them to anyone! ð   ð   ð  Â"

Cabinet Contractors questions, answered by experts

Late summer or early fall are two popular times to upgrade kitchen cabinets. With the holidays right around the corner, this gives you spillover time in case your renovation project takes longer than anticipated. Then you get to host and show off your new kitchen when company comes.

It depends on your ceiling height. Wall cabinets are typically mounted 54 inches from the floor. So, if you have eight-foot ceilings, you’ll need 42-inch-high wall cabinets to fill the gap. And you’ll need 54-inch cabinets if you have nine-foot ceilings. But standard-sized cabinets don’t come in 54 inches, so you'll need to stack various sizes together. And, if you have ceilings higher than nine feet, it’s a good idea to have custom stacked cabinets made to fill your space.

If you have a drawer larger than 30 inches, you should consider adding two pulls, but, again, this decision is up to personal preference. Any pro you work with on cabinet installation can help you determine how many pulls you need and where you should place them.

There are three primary ways to attach upper kitchen cabinets to a wall, and installers may use more than one method at a time. The most common method is to drive screws through the back of the cabinets and into studs in the wall behind. Sometimes cabinets are glued to the wall with strong adhesive. Often a combination of screws and adhesive is desirable. The last way is by hanging the cabinets on hardware brackets that attach to the wall before cabinet installation.

Options include stock, semi-custom, and custom cabinets, each offering varying levels of personalization and cost.
