"Mike and his team did an excellent job. They installed a new tile backsplash in my kitchen and they also installed new wood flooring. The did a great job and everything looks awesome. They were quick, efficient, and reasonably priced. I would absolutely hire them again!"

"

It went great!!   For the estimate they worked around my schedule.  I knew how I wanted the deck to look but that was it. Lew was great in helping me decide all the details. The work was done in a few days and all the workers were very polite and helpful  with any questions I had along the way. I now have a gorgeous deck from the back of my house with new sliding doors up to my pool that has a locking gate for the safety of my children. They did a fantastic job!!

"I had a very positive experience working with this company. They were timely, and paid great attention to detail. I felt they were very honest, and made good suggestions to beautify my home. I had a bathroom remodeled, doors replaced and new baseboard heaters installed. I will be using them again in the future."

"I was extremely happy with Mike Kelly and the very professional installation of my backsplash. He went above and beyond. He picked up the tile for me and noticed I should have a “pencil edge” on the backsplash. With the type of tile I picked he let me know there was a new type of edging that would look perfect. He sent pictures and we made the decision to go with the Schluter edging. His work was impeccable and he was on time. He cleaned everything to my satisfaction. Excellent job."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

Travertine is a natural stone, while porcelain is ceramic. You can enjoy the best of both worlds with porcelain travertine tiles. Some people prefer porcelain to travertine because it doesn’t require regular maintenance and it’s easier to clean. Porcelain travertine looks like the real thing but only costs $3 to $6 per square foot.

Yes, unfortunately, it is normal for wall and floor tiles to crack, especially when you drop heavy items on tiled floors or place heavy objects on them. Tiles are also more susceptible to cracking when ceramic tiles designed for walls are installed on floors, as these are often not strong enough to handle heavy loads from foot traffic and furniture. Similarly, tiles that are installed incorrectly, lack adequate subflooring, or have other installation problems are prone to cracking. To avoid these problems and the inevitable repair and replacement costs they bring, always hire a professional for tile work and follow best practices for installation.

Poured-in-place terrazzo flooring is more durable than tile. In fact, it’s one of the most durable types of flooring on the market. It can last anywhere from 40 to 100 years, depending on maintenance. On average, you can expect your terrazzo floor to last about 75 years, but you will have to make repairs as needed.

If you want your ceramic tiles to be evenly spaced and installation to take less time, spacers are a crucial part of the installation process.

You can, in theory, tile your fireplace hearth with most tiles. However just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. For example, it’s much better to use unglazed tiles because glazed tiles are more resistant to cracking under extreme heat. Porcelain is more heat-resistant than ceramic, but you can still design the hearth as you like by putting the most heat-resistant tiles directly under the fire and, if it matches your style, add more decorative tiles further from the center of the fire.
