"I called the number. The person confirmed the appointment. The plumber was at the location at the precise time, inspected. Called me for the expected expense, we agreed over the phone. He got paid via Visa card and did the job. All done so professionally. Can't get better. I think he was little high in price but because its 5 degree F outside, its OK for one job."

"Always thought these reciews were written by someone from the company or family/friends but my project is wrapping up and was motivated to write one as a satisfied customer. From the first visit I was fully impressed by Bruce. He arrived onetime for our home consultation was honest and gave us such a good deal that we cancelled seeing anyone else. The project was professional all the workers and day to day communication was impressive, any isue they quickly took on and in no way made me feel they would walk away from any unseen issues we had such as plumbing, water damage in the sub floor etc.We added on a shower door and Bruce worked with us for that and made our final remodel seem like what we normally see when we visit other locations on vacation!Angel and Craig were excellent!Customer service was always courteous and Bruce visited our project throughout. Let me summarize what was said to us in the beginning, you may find someone cheaper but likely not better!"

"I'm not fully moved into the home yet, but I will update when I am there permanently. The crew was very professional, worked diligently, cleaned up after every day of work (three day job--french drain expansion, two additional sump pumps installed, window drains into the sump pumps, pretty extensive job)."

Customers say: Quick response

"After buying a new refrigerator, Home Depot told me I needed a plumber to run a new water line to the refrigerator. I was not happy with the Home Depot tech that called me. The plumber, Dave, arrived soon after I called Harris and did a phenomenal job! He was friendly, professional and worked quickly. Thank you, Dave, and Harris Plumbing!!"

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Tools include a wrench, plunger, and wax ring. Professionals use specialized tools for complex installations.

Silicone-based caulk is known for its waterproofing qualities, so it’s the best option for any bathroom area. While it’s often more expensive, it will provide a better, longer-lasting seal than acrylic or latex caulk. Use it along the base of the toilet to prevent leaks and keep the area clean and protected.

The amount of clean water your cistern can supply depends on its size and the local rainfall patterns. Cisterns range from a few hundred to several thousand gallons in capacity.

To estimate the potential supply, consider the average annual rainfall in your area and the catchment area of your roof. For instance, a 1,000-square-foot roof can collect around 600 gallons of water from just one inch of rainfall.

Multiply this by the average annual rainfall to get a rough idea. However, factors like evaporation and system efficiency will also play a role.

While you don’t have to run out and immediately buy a new toilet at the first sign of a clog, if the toilet keeps clogging because it’s a low-flow or poorly designed model, a new toilet may be the way to go. If your toilet keeps clogging, you can try using less toilet paper, adjusting the fill valve, checking the toilet vent pipe on the roof, and using a toilet auger to make sure nothing is stuck in the pipe or trap.

Yes, you can pour water down the toilet to help it flush. For each flush, you’ll need 1 to 2 gallons of water for newer toilets or 3 to 5 gallons of water for older toilets. Rather than dumping the entire bucket in all at once, pour the water in slowly for the best results. If you’re pouring water down the toilet to help it flush after a clog, only use 1 gallon of hot water.
