"Scheduling an appointment was a very frustrating endeavor. First, I tried to schedule using their online appointment request form, but never heard back. A week later, I called (and like every other time I called) had to leave a voicemail message asking for a call back that day or I would be taking my business everywhere. I got a call back about an hour later from an annoyed woman who complained that she was too overworked and that's why nobody was getting back to me. I was then able to schedule an appointment for about 7 weeks out to have my pellet stove cleaned. The day prior to the cleaning a work conflict came up and there was a chance I needed to reschedule the appointment. I called and left a voicemail explaining that I needed to know how long the appointment would take and that if it took longer than 1.5 hours I would need to reschedule. I received no call back. I called the next day (the day of the appointment) first thing in the morning, and had to leave another message stating the same thing. I STILL never received a call back. The stove technician (Noah) called to let us know he was on his way that afternoon and was able to finish the cleaning on time. The stove was cleaned adequately and he was both pleasant and respectful. Bottom line: Good luck scheduling an appointment or communicating with this business on your own time table - there is just no way to get in touch with anyone until they choose to call you back. That being said, one they arrived they were able to do the job adequately without further issue."

""Cross posted to warn potential customers!" Just like KirkandJill W. We also purchased a Ravelli Stove RV80..it now sits on our front lawn as the FD had to remove it after a pretty intense hopper fire. Last year was riddled with issues, auger fire, stove pipe joints that disintegrated...I realize they are busy, and we did our best to remain patient but they pretty much ghosted us (when we called them to tell them about the fire, my wife got an obligatory "Ok, we've updated our CRM") and we still haven't gotten a peep out of them...hey Fire n Stone...WE'RE STILL HERE WAITING!!!!Techs were awesome though...always clean, respectful and diligent. If you ne ed service...be prepared to have to leave messages and wait. When I mean wait...it could be a week before a call back, and another several weeks to actually have someone show up. I would NOT recommend Ravelli to anyone...beautiful looking stove, but do your research. I should have taken more time to do mine before making the investment."

Chimney Repair questions, answered by experts

When properly installed and maintained, a metal roof can last 50 to 80 years. However, the fasteners used to attach the roof may have a shorter lifespan than the roof panels, so it’s a good idea to inspect your roof every few years to check for wear and replace any damaged components. Metal roofs installed over shingles don’t last as long as tear-offs since the underlying roofing components can deteriorate over time, and the added weight can stress roof supports.

In many areas, chimney repair companies need to be licensed, but it depends on your state and local municipality. You can check with your local building department to see if companies need licenses, and then you can use Angi’s license lookup tool to confirm that the company you’re considering holds the proper license. It’s a good idea to confirm that the professional is fully insured, and you can ask about certification from organizations like the Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA). These certifications aren’t mandatory, but they help ensure a professional repair.

Copper roofing works well in all kinds of climates, but it’s ideal in humid climates because it naturally repels fungus, moss, and algae. This makes it one of the best roofing options for Cape Cod homes in the Northeast, as well as homes in the humid southern states and snowy northern states. That said, copper is vulnerable to thermal expansion. If you live in a climate that has extreme temperature changes, your contractor will need to consider this during the installation process.

Losing your cell or data signal is a problem that’s become more relevant in the digital age, one which metal roofs can cause. Metal roofs can rust, which is a con, but another reason to get a stone-coated roof is the added protection against that happening. Without proper insulation, metal roofs can be loud and are difficult to work on because they're slippery Finally, metal roof installation is one of the more expensive options.

On average, a roof lasts 30 years—depending on the material. Metal roofs can last up to 70 years, while zinc, specifically, can last well over 100 years. These roofs can reach their intended life span with maintenance that includes seasonal gutter cleaning, pruning nearby trees to avoid damage, and routine inspections every year.
