"Eric was professional, courteous, punctual and extremely knowledgeable/passionate about his work. Iâ m so happy I found him and didnâ t hire anyone else. The tree I had cut actually belongs to my neighbor but had become a problem since Iâ ve moved in. The tree is gigantic and hangs over my deck and yard, allowing birds to poo on everything. After speaking with my neighbor and getting the green light to cut anything off that I wanted to, Eric gave an amazing quote, we set a date and he even called to say he could come a few days early! A grafted tree is a tree grown by combining two trees. It takes expertise. Branches from grafted trees don’t grow strong roots. Save yourself the time and frustration by having an arborist help you with this advanced project.  

You can often tell if a tree is grafted because it will have a noticeable line. Above the line, the bark will look different than it does below the line. It’s most common with fruit trees.

Make sure the tree roots soak around a day before you dig the tree up for the transplant. Keep the roots wet while the tree is above ground. After the transplant is finished, provide consistent water every day for the first month or so. You don’t want to overwater the tree, but you do want to keep the roots wet so they can thrive in their new environment.

Most tree removals take 3-8 hours, requiring additional time for stump grinding or debris hauling.

Unless there’s some sort of rule in your community’s homeowners’ association that requires you to remove a stump, there’s no law that says you have to take it out. If you’re not wedded to the idea of removing it, there are plenty of ways to get creative with this tree remnant. Using the stump as the medium for a wood carving or turning it into a planter are just two examples of ways to repurpose a tree stump.

Pruning is an effective way to prevent a diseased branch from infecting the rest of the tree. If the infection isn’t caught early enough and the pathogen has spread to the trunk or the majority of the branches though, it is too late to prune off the affected areas and you’ll likely need to remove the tree.
