"Beware of shipping issues with this company. Ordered an ice maker installation kit on 10/10/25. Shipping was due no later than 10/20 according to company and FedEx tracking. FedEx tracking showed the package at their facility for 8 days without moving beginning on 10/15. Called FedEx 3 times. Each time they said they cannot find package and I have to contact shipper. Shipper has to make a claim, they will not mark it as lost. Called Appliance Parts Pros twice. Each time they say FedEx has to mark package lost before they will do anything. They also state they have to wait 14 days from them before doing anything because of their contract with FedEx. I don't care about their contract, I want what was ordered and paid for. Just going in circles with them and FedEX. If they shipped after 14 days it would be 22 days from that point, 32 days from the date of order if they shipped it that day. Fast and honest Quality Residential Electrical Service with 38 years of experience at only $75.00/hr. Also provide Commercial Electrical Service.

"Frances is pleasant to talk with and was punctual and responsive. My problem was that he's probably too busy. When I received his invoice, he charged me for the recessed lights that *I* had already purchased and then I had to prove myself by showing him the receipt. He charged me 2x the Home Depot price for Romex (which I had 100 feet of in my garage, ready to go). He put in dimmer switches that didn't match the coloring of my house project (old switches were almond, new switches should have been white) and then indicated he thought I wanted almond color since those were in other places (so were the white!). He should have asked what color I wanted, but didn't and then didn't offer to replace them. This experience left a bad taste in my mouth, I'd not hire him again."

Welcome to Jamie's Heating & Cooling, proudly serving the Newbury area. With over 12 years experience in heating, ventilation and air conditioning service and sales, you can count on Jamie's Heating & Cooling for high quality service and affordable rates.

"I needed to replace my old boiler and hot water heater. Jamie was responsive to my request for proposal, suggested a indirect hot water heater connected to the boiler, gave me the best price for the install, and was flexible with the work schedule. He showed up on time, and completed the job in the timeframe estimated. He cleaned up after himself and disposed the old boiler and hot water heater. He came back the day after installation to ensure that the boiler was functioning properly. Responded within 24 hours for a follow up visit to fix the pitch of the exhaust pipe. The only negative comment I have is that I did not know that a sump pump was needed to handle the condensate from the new boiler, and I did not like the location of the tubing tacked to the wall to take the condensate to the washing machine discharge pipe. I'm not sure there was an alternative location, but I would have preferred that we had a discussion about alternatives. Otherwise, everything went very well. I would highly recommend."

Happy Home Plumbing & Heating a family owned and operated business that focuses on residential and light commercial work. We are master plumbers in MA and NH and have over 48 years experience. We take pride in our work and always make our customers' best interest a top priority.

"Thought I’d put this out there for any of you who are deciding that you need a plumber in the Atkinson area. I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND Matt from Happy Home P&H. In my opinion he performed an incomplete job, overcharged for it and made an unprofessional comment to me. You’ll have to decide if this is the kind of plumber you want for your job. On Friday 7/13/2023 I discovered a leak in my home. Water was coming through the kitchen ceiling. I did not know what was causing this. I called Happy Home P&H. I do have to say Matt responded quickly. Matt arrived and identified the issue as the toilet tank supply line between the toilet and the wall on the second floor. He mentioned that he recently had some other jobs in my condo complex as he acknowledged that our homes are on the older side. He turned off the water to the toilet, replaced the toilet tank supply line and completed the job in less than 20 minutes. I don’t know if he took a few extra minutes to check any other plumbing parts around the leak area to ensure all was in working order...but apparently he did not. I was charged $250 because it was deemed an emergency which I gladly paid. That evening I noticed that water was still dripping from the area of “The Fix”. I called Matt at Happy Home P&H and arranged for him to come back as I felt he did not completely fix the issue I had paid him $250 for. When Matt returned, before he even looked at the leak, he said he thought it was probably a nut that needed tightning at the water shutoff as the materials were old. He completed the "tightning of the stop packing nut at toilet" in under 5 minutes. I don’t know if he took a few extra minutes to check any other plumbing parts around the leak area to ensure all was in working order... but apparently he did not. He told me the charge would be $100 for coming back to fix the leak. I suggested the fix was something he touched the day before and should be considered as included in the original fix. He did not agree. I paid Matt $100. I told him I was disappointed about having to pay a second time and would be posting my disappointment on the Atkinson Community Facebook page and passing my experience onto my Atkinson neighbors. That evening I noticed that water was still dripping from the area of “The Fix”. I notified Matt of the continued leaking. Matt said he was busy today but offered to come back the next day. However he prefaced it by saying “even though I don’t want you as a customer” I will fix my work. I have decided to not allow Matt back into my home given his unprofessional comment and the fact that after two visits there is still water leaking from my toilet. I feel uncomfortable and do not want to allow a worker into my home who quote "does not want me as a customer". This was my experience with hiring Matt of Happy Home P&H."

"Martel replaced our hot water heater four years ago (in less than 24 hours on Fourth of July weekend, no less) and I noticed today that it had started to leak. I called in to their office at 11:15 am spoke with a very kind and friendly woman who transferred me to Jeff. I left a message and had a call back in less than an hour. The heater was still under warranty, they had one in stock and the technician, Mike, was at the house in less than an hour and by 2pm the job was done! I have always had more than amazing experiences with Martel, but this one takes the cake. Jeff was very informative and helpful in diagnosing the issue and Mike was an absolute pleasure to have working in my basement. If you are looking for a stand-up company for any of your plumbing and heating needs, do not hesitate to call the friendly folks at Martel!"

"First off the furnace was running fine it was a schedule yearly cleaning. Tech showed up on Friday morning service furnace. Wife and I left came home Sunday at 1 pm to a house at 40 degrees. So I removed my furnace door to hit reset. When doing so I noticed my nice washable filter that the technician said was perfectly fine thé year before and explain no need to replace it and took time to show us how to wash and clean it. Well this year the technician took it apon him self to take my filter and he tapped two cardboard filter together with duct tape looked like a first grader did this. So unprofessional. So after hours of sitting in cold because the rester didn’t work and apparently you can not speak to any one who speaks English at the call center a tech finally came out changed everything the first tech did but installed the proper fuel nozzle then had to reset air fuel again after the correct nozzle was installed. I showed him the tape together filters and he was surprised. I have since tried calling to get my filter back called as many as 7. -10 time and promised a super visior would call back never got a call. Also asked for a bill with the list of parts they changed never got the invoice. A week before I called about central air and quote well this guy was late because he had to pick kids up at school. He showed up goes out in truck comes back in two quotes one for 82,00.00 and one for 11,200.00 dollars. And all they said was unit number ////: and the price nothing about parts used or labor just install central air. So still no call back and I will not recommend them to any one and when someone ask about them I will describe our dealings and strongly suggest them not to use them and will never say a good thing about them. They suck"

Water Heaters questions, answered by experts

Several things can void the warranty for your water heater. Many water heater manufacturers state that installing your own will void the warranty. However, even if you get away with performing the task yourself, incorrect installation, lack of a building permit, and improper repair work, regardless of licensing status, can all render your water heater unprotected by both the manufacturer's warranty and any installation warranties.

A tankless water heater can last up to 20 years, but just how long your tankless water heater lasts depends on how much water you use, how well you maintain your water heater, and the water hardness level in your area. A unit that constantly has mineral buildup from hard water may have a shorter life span.

You can convert a gas heater to electric, but it isn’t as simple as swapping a plug or two. First of all, you need to make sure there’s adequate power to the unit, as electric units require much higher power amounts versus gas. Then, you need to close off the gas lines and ventilation. Make sure you don’t also need a permit for an electric water heater—some cities require it. Making the switch can cost upwards of $1,500.

If your system is not vented properly, you could experience what’s called backdrafting. Backdrafting is when your ventilation system isn’t working as it should, and instead of releasing gases outside, they get trapped inside your home.

Gas and propane water heaters create a few types of combustion gases, but the most dangerous is carbon monoxide. If there’s too much build-up of these gases inside your home, it can lead to carbon monoxide poisoning.

The cost to replace a water heater depends on the type you choose (tank versus tankless) and the fuel type. You can expect to pay anywhere from $880 to $1,780 for a one-to-one replacement. If you’re switching from one type or energy source to another, labor costs will rise significantly for the extra amount of work.
