"We hired Nebraska Deck and Stain to stain our deck Mike kept us informed on scheduling, which was wonderful. We knew exactly when they were coming. The crew was fantastic. Took great care to ensure only the deck would be stained. Masked off windows and covered patio below. Friendly and informative. Walked the perimeter of deck to ensure we were pleased. Highly recommend this company"

"DeckHead, Inc. did a great job in power washing and restoring my composite deck to it's original appearance. Antone and his son did a great job and I plan on having them clean my deck next spring. Ben (owner) priced the job I had done fairly and worked around my schedule. I would recommend DeckHead, Inc."

"Emerald Pro Painting of Omaha painted the exterior of my home. They were very professional and the customer service was excellent. The quality of the work was exceptional from the estimate to the preparation to the quality of the paint and the work they did. My home required a considerable amount of replacement and repair of siding and trim. This was also done with the utmost professionalism and care. The work was done in a timely manner and very efficiently. I would most definitely recommend them to anyone!"

Customers say: True professional

"Juan and his crew did an excellent job of power washing and staining my porch and deck. They were on time thorough and careful not to have stain dripping all over my patio. The area that they put two coats on they sanded between the coats. I would definitely use them again. They are good people."

"We were completely satisfied with our experience from start to finish. Brian came to get the painters started on the job. The painters were very professional-neat, quiet, excellent workmanship. Scott came to check on the progress and later on the finished job to make sure we were pleased, which we were. All involved were very concerned that we were pleased before giving us the bill, which was very reasonable. We’ve already booked them to paint our whole house."

"Dina was the sales rep that came out to our home.  She was very friendly and did a thorough walk around of our house and then measured to come up with an accurate estimate for our job.  She followed up with me a week later and we sent in our contract.  After this they said we would be notified of our 2-week window during which they would come out and paint, but I was never notified.  I emailed the office and they got back to me right away and let me know.  When that 2-week window arrived we were called to set up a time to power-wash and then to come out and prep.  We did not, however, receive a call that they would be coming out to paint.  My husband heard them arrive and start setting up as he was getting ready for work one morning.  It was no big deal, but I wished we would have been called to be notified that they would be coming.  For the most part everything looked really good.  The only things that needed touch-ups were our front storm door.  They got paint all over the frame of the storm door.  I could have done a better painting around that door then they did, which made me feel like they were a bit rushed.  We also were not having  our garage door painted (it will be replaced in the near future, but not until at least next summer, but the house was being painted the same color anyways).  However, they tested out all the paint colors on the garage door and did not tape off the trim, so got trim color all around the edges of the garage door, so once again felt like they were kinda rushing through and didn't pay attention to the little details.  I called and talked to the job site supervisor and he set up a time for them to come out and fix these mistakes.  They were out within 2 days and did a great job touching up the storm door and painting the garage door.  They gave me no issues with doing this, so I appreciate that CertaPro stand by their work.  Mistakes happen and things are overlooked, but the important thing is they fixed the problems.  Overall, we are happy with how it looks!  The job site supervisor was always very responsive and quick to return my calls, so we also appreciated that.

"My experience with Tracy "Tray" Hollingsworth was tremendous. We hired Tray initially to do some backyard deck repairs and staining, and his quality of work and strong communications were so excellent that we hired him for some additional activities that centered on exterior painting and some handyman tasks. I look forward to working with Tray again - - he is the BEST!"

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

In most cases, sanding an old deck before staining it is necessary to achieve a decent finish. If your old deck has a relatively new stain finish on it and you're only doing touch-ups, you can generally skip the sanding part. However, if your goal is to make the deck look and function better, sanding first is a must.

Waterproof paint creates a barrier to hold back moisture, but it doesn’t eliminate the source of the water. If you hire a basement waterproofing contractor, many will tell you that waterproof paint is only a temporary solution. On average, you can expect it to last from six months to two years in a wet basement before deteriorating.

Hot, intense sunshine can cause your stain to dry too quickly, which could lead it to look uneven or patchy. If you’re staining the deck during hotter months, it’s best to do it in the morning or evening once the wood has had time to cool down. If you’re staining in cooler weather with less sunshine, the time of day won’t make as much of a difference.

Staining pressure-treated wood is a recommended practice. While inherently resilient, it's not impervious to moisture and UV exposure. Staining treated wood is feasible and recommended for enhanced protection and longevity. Applying stain and sealant safeguards against degradation, prolonging its life span. These measures shield the wood from environmental threats while augmenting its aesthetic appeal, ensuring your investment endures the test of time.

The number of coats you need to apply when whitewashing a surface depends on how opaque you want the final product to be. If you're going for a transparent, barely there look, a single coat or two may suffice. For fuller coverage, you'll want to use multiple coats. Another option is to use a less diluted paint to get a thicker coverage.
