"DeckHead, Inc. did a great job in power washing and restoring my composite deck to it's original appearance. Antone and his son did a great job and I plan on having them clean my deck next spring. Ben (owner) priced the job I had done fairly and worked around my schedule. I would recommend DeckHead, Inc."

"He showed up exactly at the time given, with a heads up phone call he was on his way.  He was knowledgeable, professional  and very efficient.  He was able to get many stains out that I didn't think would come out.  Very nice young man.  Very professional and helpful with questions.  Thanks.

"Entire process was quick and easy. Left v/m to set appointment and received callback within 10 minutes. Arrived on time and had no problem getting out some tough pet and kid stains on white carpet. Whole process took no more than 45 minutes and the carpets looked great and were approved by two tough critics - my wife's mother and grandmother."

"Mr Nice Guy was about 2 months our on doing the house, which was fine; however, I was notified they were able to get the power washing done within a couple of weeks and begin the house within a month. The deck came first, which was delayed due to the high temps.  Their deck guy came out on a cloudy Saturday and complete the deck staining in one day.  The house was completed a couple of weeks later.

"Everything went fantastic and Beau did a great job as you can see by the pictures. Our house sold in less than a day and I know Beau's fantastic work contributed to that. My wife and I were originally going to do the painting but due to life we were unable to with a shrinking timeline. I found Beau on Angies list and decided to give him a call. We set up a time for him to come by and do a bid. We explained to him our situation and that we were on a tight timeline. He did the walk-through, making recommendations as he went along. He provided the bid later that evening. Once we set-up a date, two days after Christmas, Beau was ready to go. He showed up everyday ready to work and did a great job working with us in getting our house to market. Overall, Beau did a fantastic job and was a great professional who was easy to work. Everything went fantastic and Beau did a great job as you can see by the pictures. Our house sold in less than a day and I know Beau's fantastic work contributed to that. I would recommend him to anyone considering having any work done."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

You may be wondering: can you paint cement? Fortunately, the answer is yes.

To change the color of your cinder blocks, you have two options. You can either paint them or stain them. Either way, you'll be able to choose from a wide range of color options. Some popular colors for cinder block painting include off-white shades and gray tones, which add a modern spin to the traditional gray blocks.

Stains penetrate wood best when it's cool and dry, so you want to avoid moisture. If the wood is wet upon application, or if it rains before the stain dries, the water will soak into the wood and displace the staining solution. This leads to a flaky and blotchy look, which is the opposite of a sumptuous even coat. Once the stain has fully cured, after about 3 days, rain shouldn’t cause you any problems.

Various kinds of substances and deck preservatives act as protective coatings for wood to prevent rot, which is caused by water getting into the wood and creating cracks and splits. Stains, paints, and sealants are the three best options to protect your wood, but there are also oils, varnishes, and waxes available. You’ll need to reapply sealant at least once per year, and you should inspect your wood deck regularly to look for signs of damage or general wear and tear.

There are deck restoration products and oil-based wood stains that can help bring back some of the color and shine to your faded Trex decking. However, if your boards are suffering from serious fading due to UV rays or chemical cleaning products, don’t expect miracles. Also, these products are only suitable for use on the older Trex boards, not the capped, second-generation Trex products.

Staining a deck is typically less expensive upfront than painting. The cost to stain a deck professionally averages around $850, with most homeowners paying between $550 and $1,250, depending on the deck's size. A DIY staining project can cost less than $100. The cost to paint a deck ranges from $500 to $2,000. While the initial cost of staining is lower, it's important to consider long-term expenses. Paint can last up to 10 years, whereas stain needs to be reapplied every few years, which could lead to higher costs over time.
