"Daniel (DJ) from Fargo Moorhead Ace Handyman did a wonderful job! He was prompt and efficient. He told me how he was going to fix my fence and he fixed it a lot faster than I expected and he was so nice! I would gladly give him more than 5 stars if I could!"

"He was able to finish two of the things I needed done. Putting up a fan light in an existing light fixture area and stabilizing my toilet. The third thing was taking a downspout on my tub out to put a new one in, he could not finish this as it needs a licenced plumber for the job. He was up front and honest about this. Very friendly and respectful and cleaned up after himself. Thank you I will use this service again."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Yes, even if you’re being careful, removing tile can damage your drywall to some degree. However, you can minimize the damage done to it by eliminating a majority of the grout and taking your time prying each tile off. Also, it's worth noting that you might have more drywall damages to deal with if your tile is set into the mortar.

A post-drywall inspection could uncover many problems that weren’t present during the pre-drywall inspection, including insufficient insulation, missing weather stripping, improperly installed plumbing and lighting fixtures, flooring damage, drywall damage, plumbing leaks, aesthetic issues, and more. Structural problems, which are often expensive to fix and are common reasons to walk away after a home inspection, are easier to see before the drywall goes up, but a post-drywall inspection may highlight minor issues with house settling and foundation problems.

A utility knife is sharp enough to score the drywall and it may work in a pinch for outlet box holes. However, one of the best tools for drywall when you need to make exact cuts for an outlet box quickly is a drywall saw. This handheld tool has a longer blade than a utility knife, so it penetrates the thickness of the drywall easily. The design of its handle and the teeth in its blade make it easier to control while cutting quicker than you can with a utility knife.

Common causes include water leaks, settling, and impact. Address underlying issues to prevent recurring damage.

Wet-sanding and dry-sanding each have pros and cons. Dry-sanding is less messy, so it’s a good option if you’re trying to minimize dust (for example, if you’re sanding an occupied home or working with particularly dry or dusty drywall mud). However, dry-sanding is quicker because you don’t have to keep rinsing a sponge or wait for it to dry before painting.
