Absolute Fence LLC is a growing company that serves the Fargo/Moorhead and surrounding areas. We do not sub-contract our work out. All work is done by our trained employees. We typically require half down upon signed contract, with the remaining balance due upon completion of work. We accept cash, check and all major credit cards. "My neighbor needed fence work done and contracted with Scot at Absolute Fence. Without notice to her as to when the work would be done they came while she was out of town and took down a portion of that fence. I live on the other side of that fence I came home to find a huge gap in the fence. A section that had not yet fallen down was propped up from my side of the fence with boards from the broken fence ( You can only put them up from my yard...seems like trespassing to me) I have an aggressive 90 pound dog that happened to stay inside the house and a three month old puppy that I had just begun housebreaking, I talked to the polite workers Justin and Derrick asking why no one had rung my doorbell to tell me before the fence came down. I also told them that we were all lucky that the large dog had not come up from the basement where she sleeps and seen them. After two days of having to take my dogs for walks and cleaning up puppy's messes on my carpets because she couldn't go outside using our dog door, the workers came back. I asked to them to tell their boss to call me. Scot called me and when I expressed my concern that he had taken down a common fence and set up a dangerous situation and caused me a great deal inconvenience his response "First Time I ever had a problem with a neighbor." When Scot was asked if he felt any duty to give me notice. "No, your neighbor should have done that" When asked why he didn't put up temporary fencing " We don't do that" When asked what would happen if a child wandered out of my yard "Its your job the watch your kids" When asked what happened if the dog had attacked someone " You should have posted warnings" My summary is that he handled this very unprofessionally."

30 years in business as a General and sub-contractor. Residential accounts are cash on completion, down payments will vary based on material costs. Estimates will be provided free if the scope of the work is defined. If the project needs to be designed/developed, estimates will be 3% of the bid price, refundable if the work is awarded. Credit cards accepted

"We wanted to update the exterior of our 1950s rambler. Some of the work we wanted done was new siding, stonework, several new windows/doors, and to add a sliding glass door in the kitchen to give access to the backyard. We also wanted to make sure we kept some of the craftsmanship of our home, such as the cedar shake look, but with an updated look. Everything we ask for was delivered and then some! While working, everything was kept clean. We have three children and all workers were always cognizant of that with language and decorum. The time frame was also really fast. It was about two weeks total for everything to get done. Also, if ever I had questions, my texts were always answered promptly. One thing that I really liked was that the extra things that came up were never a burden to take care of. Sometimes with other companies we have dealt with, the company will grumble about having the extra work. Not Horton Contracting. He understands that things come up with older homes and, in fact, anticipates it. Some of the "extras" that our house needed was proper venting of a bathroom fan, electrical work for outside outlets, moving a radiator for our sliding glass door, and assisting us in getting attic A/C installed in our home. We have received so many compliments on our home that people have actually knocked on our door inquiring about the work. I would definitely recommend and hire T. L. Horton Contracting again."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

You can keep a dog from digging under a fence by filling existing holes in your yard, installing a wire to your fence bottom, burying your fence bottom, making a designated digging spot, and removing visual stimuli. You can also dissuade your dog from wanting to dig under your fence and escape by scheduling more one-on-one playtime and ensuring they are getting enough exercise to keep them stimulated.

A wrought iron fence is worth it if the material suits your home’s needs and the cost fits within your budget. However, wrought iron is not the best choice if you’re looking for a fence that increases privacy. However, if you want a fence and a security gate that complements your brick or stone home with a classy, timeless, and elegant look, wrought iron fencing is a good option. As far as the longevity of wrought iron fencing compared to other materials, wrought iron wins almost every time.

A wobbly fence can be caused by a number of things, though poor installation is the usual culprit. It’s always best to have your fence installed by a professional who can ensure the posts are placed correctly and that the chain links have the correct amount of tension.

Generally, the height of your dog fence should be 3 times the distance from the ground to your dog’s shoulder. For most small breeds, a 4-foot high fence will be more than enough to keep them from jumping out. Medium-sized breeds like Golden Retrievers, Labradors, and German Shepherds will need at least a 5-6 foot fence to stay contained. Large breeds that are also excellent jumpers, such as Greyhounds, may need a 7-foot high fence.

Yes, installing wrought iron fencing will usually require a building permit, as do all types of fencing. Building permits for wrought iron fencing typically cost between $150 and $500, and the price will vary based on where you live and how much your local building department charges. You may also need to pay for a property survey if you’re installing wrought iron fencing on your property line. This type of survey can cost around $500, but it prevents issues with building on neighboring properties, which can be much more expensive in the long run.
