"I first googled handyman in Marcell a few years ago and Handyman Pete appeared. I called and he answered personally and came over that day to introduce himself. From that day forward he has become a friend who we completely trust entering our cabin to do any project I throw at him. We work together as a team communicating by phone or text even sending photos along the way of ideas and projects in process and completion. He has such great ideas to share and he’s open minded to all mine. We are a great team!!! He’s so easy going and fun to work with and his pricing can’t be beat. We plan on having him replace our existing roof to metal next. I consider Pete as part of our family :) I can text or call him to stop by and check on our property if needed in case of a storm or even pest controlling. They don’t call him handyman Pete for nothing!!!"

If you don’t have studs in the area where you want to install your TV mount, you may still be able to install a TV mount on drywall. The easiest way to install a mount on drywall is by using drywall anchors—but not just any plastic anchors. Choose molly bolts or toggle anchors, which have a weight capacity of around 50 pounds. For added support, consider pairing drywall anchors with a wall mounting plate. Extra heavy TVs may need to be mounted via the ceiling joists or beams.

You should always work from top to bottom when hanging drywall. There are a few reasons for this. For one, starting at the top makes it easier to create a straight wall between the ceiling and the wall. Plus, moving downward lets you avoid any awkward gaps at the top. It’s easier to deal with gaps at the bottom because you can cut the drywall to fit the space or cover the gap with baseboard trim.

Drywall anchors aren’t necessary if there’s a stud behind the wall where you’ll be working. Studs are strong enough to support screws on their own, but they don’t run throughout the wall. This could create challenges for window and door frames that no longer fit the wall’s thickness. You may also have to adjust power outlets so they are accessible. When done right, drywall can create a smooth, flat appearance, but it’s best when handled by professionals.
