"Beth Lindsey and Brandon Freeman were both very professional and very easy to work with. This was partial replacement of the exterior siding on our home, and it was amazing how well the James Hardie pre-finished siding matched up with the existing siding. The job was started on time, completed on schedule, and everything was cleaned up afterward. We’re very pleased with their work and will be using these folks for future projects."

"They were very responsive any time I called with questions. Extremely helpful throughout the process. I was told that they would be here by 7 to get the work started and when I came down the stairs at 6:40 they were already in my driveway, getting ready to start the job. This was an insurance claim and Sean helped me through the whole process and even spoke with the Insurance company at times. I have recommended them to others and will be using them when it is time to replace the siding on my house."

"I receved several estimates. this was niot th echeapest however this was the best prodcut for the best price. The salesman wasnt pushy or take hours of my time as others had - totally appreciate that a BIG plus. I am thrilled with the product; the quality of install; the wonderful installer and the communication. Can not think of a single thing that could have been better. I would highly recommend this company their product and workmanship. I have already referred several neighbors who have had the same experience, so I believe this is the way they handle each and every customer. I am pretty sure this product and service etc well exceed the competitor which was twice the cost - and again this wasn't the cheapest. Totally is adding additional year-round living space to my home - my sanctuary now! Thanks so much Window Depot!"

"Quote was timely and reasonably priced. Started job 2 days after quote was accepted. Replaced rotted sheets of 4x8 siding panels. Excellant job, professional and also included painting the new Hardi Cement panels after replacing. Miguel and his team were amazing."

Siding questions, answered by experts

Board and batten siding refers to the look and style of the installation rather than the material itself. You can install board and batten siding whether you choose vinyl, wood, fiber cement, or metal as your material. Among other popular siding styles to consider are clapboard siding, stucco, shake siding, and log cabin siding. Stone, stone veneer, brick, and brick veneer are considered high-end alternatives that can help maximize ROI and curb appeal.

Yes, you can install siding over stucco, but it's crucial to ensure the stucco is in good condition first. Before proceeding, inspect the stucco for any signs of damage, leaks, or mold growth. If you discover water damage, mold, or have ongoing leak issues, it's recommended to remove the stucco completely. This step prevents future problems like mold and pest infestations and allows a professional to repair or replace any damaged sheathing underneath. If the stucco is sound, the installation process involves attaching furring strips to the wall's framing directly through the stucco. The new siding is then installed onto these furring strips. A professional may also need to adjust window and door openings to prevent them from being recessed behind the new siding, which can cause aesthetic issues and create potential leak points.

Vinyl siding is durable, low-maintenance, weather-resistant, and available in various colors and styles. It also provides excellent insulation, improving energy efficiency.

While you can perform minor siding repairs or even install it yourself over small areas, it is generally best to hire a professional siding company. Siding installation is a time-consuming and complicated process that requires specialized tools and experience. Most homeowners lack the skills to ensure proper alignment, weatherproofing, longevity, and durability, especially for more complex jobs like vertical siding. The money saved on a DIY project may not be worth the time and potential risks of improper installation.

The necessary frequency of mold cleaning in your home will depend on several factors, including the climate, the presence of moisture sources, and the type of siding. It's generally recommended to inspect your siding regularly and clean any mold growth as soon as it appears to prevent it from spreading or causing damage. If you’re not sure how often you should clean mold off siding, you can always contact a siding contractor near you to consult on what maintenance schedule will work best for your home.
